Is it possible to have a plexiglass or fiberglass cage as long as its well ventilated? I'm interested in sugar glidders I just don't like the "traditional" cages with wires and mesh and whatnot. I currently have a vivarrium with Dart Frogs and I spent a lot of time on it, and I was wondering if I could do something like that for the suggie?

thanks in advance!!!

The wire is easy for them to climb on. That's the purpose. They will climb on every single square inch of the cage- upside down, rightside up, you name it. I wouldn't think it would be a good idea to put them in a cage where they can't climb, but I'm no expert.

I have, however, seen pictures of cages where the front is plexiglass but the rest of it is done in wire or some other material that is easy to climb on. It was attractive, but I personally wouldn't go that route because my suggies love to climb on EVERYTHING and I would never deprive them of an extra surface to climb on.

[:"magenta"]from my understanding, housing a glider in a fiberglass-type cage (or any cage which does not allow for climbing) can cause hind leg weakness or hlp-type symptoms. [/]
