[:"blue"] Some folks who use BML but don't eat eggs themselves have a small problem since you can't buy one egg at a time. One solution would be to buy a half dozen eggs and freeze those that you don't use immediately. Here is some information from the Fort Valley State University Ag Department in Georgia: [/]

[:"indigo"]FREEZING EGGS[/]

[:"indigo"]Safely keep eggs in the freezer for six months.
If you've never considered freezing eggs, you may be surprised at how many uses you can find for them, such as scrambling, baking, and making desserts with them. You can keep eggs in your freezer safely for about six months, but they must be removed from the shells.

Here are some general guides for freezing eggs: Use a quick, clean technique, select fresh eggs of good quality and wash them before you crack them. Cool the eggs to thirty two degrees Fahrenheit. Don't freeze cracked eggs. Break each egg into a saucer before you add it to a bowl with other open eggs and don't add it to the others until you are sure it's good. Also, break the yolks and thoroughly mix them with the whites. Use a fork or an electric beater at low speed to do this mixing, be careful not to whip air into the eggs.

Containers.....For freezing eggs, good containers include ice cube trays, custard cups, and other small, plastic containers. Wrap these into tight pack ages that will be free of vapor and moisture. Label these packages carefully, noting whether the eggs contain salt or sugar. After the eggs are frozen, they may be removed from the cups or ice cube trays and stored in one large package.

That is great info to know! My mother in law seldom eats eggs because she just can't use up a dozen before they go bad. I know she will appreciate the information especially with holiday baking time coming up.

Good job once again Randy!

[:"magenta"] <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thanx.gif" alt="" /> so much, randy! that is perfect for when i get my babies, since i do not wanna eat the eggs myself. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/multi.gif" alt="" /> but, i have a question about this. if i make a batch of bml, then break the eggs to freeze them (as advised above,) how many "egg-cubes" should i put in future batches of bml? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" /> how many "egg cubes" are equivalent to one egg? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" /> any help on this would be greatly appreciated. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thanx.gif" alt="" />[/]

Hmmm... I assume that this only works if they are NOT cooked? I boiled eggs one time and froze the ones that I didn't feed my gliders. The next night they were moldy...what was that all about?

Hmm... well that would depend on how many "egg cubes" you made and out of how many eggs. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> For instance, if you took 4 eggs and made 8 cubes, then 2 cubes = one egg. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

charlesex, lol i guess the only way to tell is to measure an egg to a cube, im not sure how much egg thats supposed to go into BML. But I know most standard ice cube trays, one cube equals 1 tbsp. Maybe bourbon could help ya out!
