Have you had him vet checked yet? It's always good to get the new ones into the vet for a wellness check. I would do this ASAP if I were you and tell them about his soft stool. They'll do a fecal smear/float and hopefully if there's anything wrong, you can treat it. Otherwise, it may be stress

Can be caused by , stress, ingestion of toxins ,diet,if there is blood in the stool, go to a vet immediately.Get a stool sample and take it with you to the vet when you go.(Do not give any milk to them , Glider are Lactose Intolerance)!!!!!!!! Go to the vet that dose Gliders A.S.A.P. If it get dehydrated it will die very fast. With in hours.

sounds like your little one is suffering from a stress related illness. Usually bacterial but can be fungial or protozoan parasites.

You need to seek vet care ASAP like in the morning if the stool is just soft and not runny. Then ask for a fecal float with a cytology so if the bacterial level is out of sync...proper medication can be given. Glider also needs to be checked for possible dehydration.

I also would suggest you take both in to be checked since you did not observe the recommended quarentee period.

Are the babies still eating? If so...there should be some dropings for the vet when handled.

If the little ones have no food in their GI tract...then there will be nothing to collect. If this happens...the vet will more than likly guess as to what meds to perscribe. Usually Baytril and Flagyl for 14 days is perscirbed with a follow up visit after meds are finished for a repeat fecal.

If the babies are not eating or drinking...they both may be dehydrated so both may require being sub-q'ed with fluids. Dehydration is a seconday problem and most gliders die from secondary problems rather than from the primary cause of the illness.

Be sure to ask for enough meds to treat two gliders or the vet will only give you amount for one glider.

And keep us updated as to how these little ones are doing as well as the results of the vet check.

this could be caused by huge number of things.
stress,illnesses,parasites,diet etc etc
i would get a vet check,if u can't aford one right away atleast take in a fecal sample so they can check for parasites and rule that out.

If you just noticed it once, it could be just stress related. But "just" is a little misleading, since gliders can get sick after undergoing a lot of stress (a new home could cause that). The vet visit is warranted anyway -- you'll want to get your vet familiar with your glider before an emergency happens later on -- but if you just noticed it once and it cleared up the next day and remains cleared up, you can probably count that as stress. But a big thumbs up to the vet visit, just to be sure, and to pronounce your glider healthy.

I'm so glad you went. Did the vet give you meds for both gliders or just Rocco?

make sure the other glider dont have the same bacteria. use only spring water as they get giardia from tap water. also clean his cage everything in them with bleach /water but take the gliders out when u clean them and rinse well. as depending on the bacteria they can re catch it. and make sure the other glider gets checked as well because if one has the bacteria the other most likely has it too if housed together symptoms dont show up that quickly.

I'll echo what "the gliders angel" said- make sure you disinfect the cage, all of the toys, and the pouch to make sure he isn't exposed to the bacteria any longer. Protozoa showed up in one of my gliders' stool and I ended up treating both of them and disinfecting their cage everyday for a couple of days. They were better in just a few days .

Oh, and it could be good if you gave him a little yogurt while on antibiotics.

I have't heard of any cases of giardia coming from tap water before

I know that the Pur Deluxe water filters are made to filter out giardia. Although its not common, my vet said it is possible -- more possible in a rural area or an area with an aging water system (and also if you use well water), than in the normal water supply. We switched to bottled spring water when Ozzy was sick just in case.

Although, to be honest, the spring water bottle never talks about the type of filtering used, so I really don't know if its any safer. Anyone have more knowledge about this than me??

Please keep in mind that gliders hide illness very well and can go down hill very quickly. I would take Jasper in and have him checked just to be safe.

Since the illness is not parasitic protozoan related (Giardia for one) ....and is bacterial overgrowth related due to stress from a new home....more than likly the other glider will be fine. Monitor his stools for the time being. Should they become soft....take him to the vet for a fecal float and cytology.
