It sounds like they need immediate vet care. In order to help you with a vet we will need state and city info.

Yes, they need vet care right away! You can look in our database as a starting place for a glider-knowledgeable vet, if you don't already have one. Please don't delay, once gliders show symptoms of an illness, they go downhill very quickly. It might help some of us if you provided more information (not just where you're located). For instance, what diet are they on? When did they last eat, and what did they last eat? When did you start to notice these symptoms? Did they get into anything (e.g., chemicals). Are they going to the bathroom (poo and pee)? Are they making any noises while going? Are they drinking? You can try the "tent test." Pinch the skin between the shoulder blades and pull it gently. If it stays tented, they're dehydrated. That's extremely serious, and a vet may need to give sub-q fluids. If they are, you can give Pedialyte (straight, not diluted). Look for the version for rehydration (Pedialyte RS [rehydration solution]). Its a little higher in electrolyte content and helps get them back to normal more quickly. Good luck, and do keep us posted on what's happening!

They are dehydrated, they did not get into anything and last ate either last night or sometime today, they are on a glider grub diet with some baby food and fruits mixed in. Glider Grub is the brand of food we get from the local exotic pets store (Austin, TX). I found our vet, we'll go tomorrow when they're open. we're staying up tonight to give pedialyte as well.

Westgate Pet and Bird Hospital is the best here. I think the number is 892-4463. They aren't open right now but will be in the morning. They are very good with the gliders, and will work with you on money, if that is an issue.

The only problem is that the vets aren't open until tomorrow morning, so we can't take them now.. all we can do is stay up all night monitoring and making them down some pedialyte.

Gertie, please call Bourbon. She's a great resource and can help you now. Hopefully we can help you locate an emergency vet as well.

When you get them all better you want to get an extra water bottle or a bowl for them to drink out of in case they dont' understand how to use a bottle yet.
Water bottles can mess up so it is always best to have two per cage so they don't dehydrate and check them often.

Mary and I are both on the phone with her, she lives close to USMom, and there is not an emergency vet nearby that could help, no matter how good the resources, sometimes only One can decide whether they stay or go. They have just lost Jane the female, at 2:10 am and the male is seizing every 2 minutes each time lasting much longer than the time before. I will keep you all updated as this goes on, he is taking a drop or 2 of pedilyte but he is drinking it. the seizures right now is the main concern, he is now moving away from the pedilyte,, and is showing signs of controlled motor activity. His nose is now pink but when he seizes, his nose turns purple.

his last seizure was 8 minutes apart, his breathing is better, and he is now trying to get out of his pouch, he is fighting very hard to live, he is still dehydrated but still taking fluids, slowly but surely, he takes more fluids each time now, we are hoping that they can get his fluids up, as he was very very cold, but his body temperature is warming up much much better than before, his hydration levels are doing much better. his breathing is slow, but better. he is still very lethargic, and seems to be blind now, we are hoping this is only temporary.

15 minutes since his last seizure, his breathing is now very labored, and very slow, i will have amber come in and finish this , as his breathing is getting slower and longer in between breaths. he is down to 16 seconds, between each breath.
my prayers are with them all, and i want to say, that amber and patrick is doing everything they could to save their little ones.
No One is giving up hope on him,
Mary thank you girl,

B-you know my Riker came from a "Booth" at a gunshow-and his first months were a round the clock battle to live-GOD I hate reading this. Best way to keep him warm-put him ON YOU next to your skin and wear a robe or jacket-yes, it'll get uncomfortably warm for you, but he can't regulate his own temp right now, as B has probably told you already. And fluids, fluids, fluids. ALL MY PRAYERS FOR THE LITTLE ONE!! B is the best you can have in your corner-so do what she says.

We lost both our little sweethearts this morning. Tarzan fought as hard as he could through everything, and I just hope they both know we loved them. We wrapped them together in a spoon position with their tails entwined, just like Patrick and I would be. I only hope that they take care of each other from this point forward.
God bless you, Bourbon and Mary. Thank you so much for helping us through this tougher than anything ordeal.

They knew. We had two that didn't last 2 days, bought from a booth-so far gone already even immediate vet care couldn't help.... They DO know. I'm so sorry

Aww. . .So sorry for your loss. I have two booth babies myself - knowing absolutely nothing about the potential issues with these 'puppy mill' joeys. (I had no clue there was such a thing in the glider world!) I was given lots of bad information (as I discovered later here) and made lots of changes in their care and diet. Their health and appearance improved, thankfully. I'm grateful they were not too sick when they came to me. My thoughts are with you.

I am crying reading this. I am so very sorry for your losses. Your babies knew how very much they are loved. Godspeed sweet little angels Tarzan and Jane. Again, I am so very sorry. Tom has a couple more babies to watch over now.

I'm so sorry these little ones didn't make it, Gertie.
