I have a male glider that I got a little over two weeks ago hes not fully bonded to me yet everyone keeps telling me it will be worth the wait which im so excited about and im wishing that anyday now he will bond to me but I know thats not going to happen because it takes time for a glider to bond to a person but my question is once your glider is bonded to you do they act like a cat (loves you but doesnt need you) or do they act like they need you all the time?

I am probably not the best person to answer this because I have only had my little ones for just under two weeks. My little guy has bonded to me. My little girl is beginning to. He will come to me when he is scared. He nuzzles in my neck and lets me hold him in my hands. Relly, just runs around all crazy. She is warming up to me and once she has figured she has explored enough of a room, she will come back and check in with me. She likes to sit on my shoulder

There is nothing like having a truly bonded glider!

I have five all together and although my first pair love me and are *bonded* they are not very social gliders.
With that being said...

My two bra babies are with me all the time, they click constantly, they purr away when I get them in the morning, my little girl literally grabs my face and gives me kisses and my lil boy will lift his head for me to kiss his neck! They stay on me at all times and cant stand to be away from me if I hand them to someone else. I dont worry if they wake up if we are out anywhere and the looks they give you...well...once your baby is bonded you will surely know.

Now the rescue I got in, he is also bonded, but I have stepped aside and I am allowing him to bond closer to my youngest boy who has laid a claim to him. He is a *spastic* glider though and wants to explore anywhere and anything in reach, so his out of cage time is always spent inside the tent!!

Hope this helps some.

I can honestly say that the kissing is the best feeling in the WORLD. When my babies started doing that, my heart melted . Both of them will grab onto my face and kiss me at once. At that moment I feel like I don't need people- just my gliders lol.

That is a tough question...
I always prefer to say 'bonding' rather than 'bonded'. I think that there never is a fully bonded Glider, as we are all always in a constant state of bonding for the rest of our lives/Gliders lives. The bonding just gets stronger and stronger the longer were with them.

Once a glider becomes comfortable with you and trusts you... its like nothing else Ive ever experienced. All Gliders are different... each has its own unique personality (like people ). Some Gliders that trust humans are more cat like I think, as far as liking you, but being more independant. Others seem to be more dependant and want to be with their humans all the time.

Ive had Gliders that were so loving and trusting of me it is unreal... then there are others that are very sweet and loving, but prefer to do their own thing.
All you can do is have patience and understanding, and just be there and be loving as much as possible, then its up to the Glider and their personality.
Some get more comfortable with their humans quickly, others take some time.
sounds like your doing a great job with your wee one, and love him to bits!
Any closer to deciding on a name yet?

Didn't someone once say their glider offered to share part of a cricket with them?

I'm waiting for that kind of bonding!

I thought about the name "Gypsy" today and thought it would be a good name for a glider.

I think Peeps is bonded to me, but she doesn't grab my face for kisses . When I have her loose in "her" room, she runs around and plays, but keeps coming back to me off and on if I'm sitting on the bed reading or something. Also, I get ready in the morning with her loose, and she always jumps on my leg and climbs up me when I'm walking around the room. She doesn't mind going to someone else, but prefers me. She will go to my 7 and 4 year old daughters willingly, which surprised me.

Yeah - the kisses don't work out very well for me & mine . . . . they just see my lips as the biggest, juiciest mealworm EVAR. hahhahah . . . .

I glider-proofed my guest room, where I keep her cage. I wish I could let her run around in the living room while I'm watching TV with my hubby, but we have two recliners and the fireplace, etc. in there so I don't feel comfortable with her loose in there.

So I come in here and read books or chat on GC while she runs around. She's really been showing more signs of being strongly bonded lately. As she's exploring, if I talk to her, call her or she notices I'm looking at/for her, she'll come out from wherever she is and look at me. If I scratch the bed with my fingernail, she'll usually come over to me for a little attention.

Our gliders attached themselves to us once they were bonded. They crawl all over us and barely leave our bodies. They go everywhere with us. Stores, walks, parades, and car trips. For a year now they seem to want to stay by our side and never leave....

Mine took 2 months to bond, because he is difficult and spoiled rotten! lol but very worth it. I had to keep my roomate out of my room for the entire time. Now when he gets scared he'll nuzzle under my shirt and sit in my bra (he prefers the sports bras) and he pokes his head out to see what i am doing He only started kissing me a month or so ago. When he sat on me before he bonded with me, i put a little baby food fruit on my finger and let him eat it, now he licks my fingers always (after washing of course) even if i don't have any food lol

I remember the first night i got him, after i got back from the breeders, he ran up my arm and hid under my hair or an hour (could NOT get him out)! My boyfriend had to coax him out lol

try petting the neck under the ears, mine loves it and sticks his neck out until i do. lol. Some like their flaps rubbed lightly
