I was sitting on the couch tonight watching TV and I guess Keeva woke up and I always talk to her when she first wakes up but I got interested in a show and wasn't paying attention. She stood at her cage door and made a hissy/sneezeing noise, like in threes?? Sorry about the explination, but I hope she doesn't have a cold or anything. It sounded like a snake hissing but not drawn out, like short hisses?? As soon as I herd it I talked to her and asked her if she was OK and she stopped doing it. Is this a sign of illness or anything?? She is eating and playing normal.

She was talking??? Well, don't that beat all. I was flipping out cause it sort of sounded like a sneeze and I was worried she was getting a cold! Ok, I'm appealing to all of you with a web site. The only things I can find on thier sounds are crabbing and chattering. Someone needs to make up a page on clicking, peeping, hissing, and all the other noises they make and an english translation for it! I know I'm not the only newbie around here who freaks when they think thier new baby is getting a cold, when they are trying to talk! I feel a bit silly now, but I just can't help myself I guess. She has my heart, and she knws it too!

Hi Squirrle To answer your question... (the best I can... ) Are they bickering when they do this hiss to one another? Well, there are several types of hissing... usually you can tell by their body language and how close they are to another. You can tell most the time if their annoyed with one another. Alot of times though the hissing is either them calling out to get attention, or if you notice them straining or seeming to have a hard time going potty, they will hiss. Sometimes when mine are calling out for me, it almost sounds like a sharp hiss followed by what I can only describe as someone squeezing a squeeky toy...LOL.

Isn't it cool when they talk to you? Peeps just chattered at me for the first time (or at least the first time that I heard, it was so quiet!) this morning when I went in to say good morning. I loved it! Usually, if she says anything it's that little "squeak-hiss", which I take as "Good Morning". Today she did that plus the chatter, which I took as "Good Morning, I'm so happy to see you!" I went out of town for 4 days last week, and it seems like since I've been back, she's been even more closely bonded and affectionate.

My hubby said he herd her chattering this morning so he went to check on her. He said she was hanging in front of her door looking straight at me snoozing on the couch chattering up a storm. Ummm, I think I missed playtime last night.ooops! Welp, tommorrow will be 2 weeks I've had her. Since we are carring on conversations and she has found mommy's chest makes a wonderfull nesting place I think we are doing pretty darn good!!!

Ever since I got tails, peanut has been talkin and being a lot more friendly towards me. It was sooo cute this morning I was there giving them their morning yogurt treat and was feeding one to tails and peanut came over and grabbed onto my shirt through the cage and latched on. It was soo adorable. It was like "come on mommie give me another, Ive been good, please"

My favorite sound is when they are right next to my ear and they start to purr. It is such a soft gentle sound it just makes my heart sing!!

Hi there. If you go into the bonding section you will find a sticky with bonding tips that will help you out. You just got them and bonding does take time. Please go to that section (follow the link I posted) and read up on the different things you can do.

Our two males Nibbler and Fry will hiss if there are sounds coming from the TV or computers that they don't like. Usually its if Ron or I are playing a game and we're fighting against something that makes a wailing noise (like a wraith or ticked-off mermaiden). One of them will poke his head out of the sleeping pouch and hiss. It almost sounds like he's going "Shhh". So we lower the volume a bit then he chitters a little "Thanks" and snuggles back to sleep.
