<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Just wondering, are those conditioning perches, (that you get for birds feet and beaks) Are they safe for gliders? Would that help with nail trimming? I think they are made from concrete I am not sure if that is safe? [:"blue"] [/] <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />

I have one in peanuts cage, and it doesntbother him at all. Although I did find that it doesnt work. The Nail o matic, or a sandy(something) for inside the wodent wheels are the best if you dont want to trim them yourself.

If I were to go buy some fine grit sand paper, what grit would I be looking for?

The perches (so far as my experience with them) do not trim the nails. I bought a sandy trimmer and it did nothing. In fact, heh, the nails felt as if they had been sharpened!!!
nail-o-matic in a wodent wheel helps out a lot.

I must admit it's a bit loud though. (the wodent wheel). You gotta attach it to the cage or it may drive you bonkers

thanks everyone <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />. I have the wodent wheel with the nail o matic (does that every go bad by the way? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />) but my boys still have long nails <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worried2.gif" alt="" />. I have trimmed their nails, but I was just wondering if there were other ways to keep them trim too... Besided that Wheel I mean <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> [:"green"] [/]

I have washed it, each time I clean the cage. I think I damaged the thing washing it to much <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" /> I'll just buy a new one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thanx.gif" alt="" />

I found that I have to keep mine in more than two nights. Otherwise it does just sharpen them. But NO more than 3 nights. but it depends on how much your glider uses the wheel. I found mine is actually much quieter than my other wheel.
