Okay, so since us guys miss out on the whole "bra baby" phenomenon, I've been trying to come up with an idea for a guy to discreetly carry a couple gliders around (ie. one that doesn't involve a "mansierre" or "bro", or a pouch swinging from your neck).

The best idea I can come up with is some kind of shoulder holster setup . . . The only issue is that you'd have to be very careful not to squish them with your arm against your side. I don't know if it's something you could get used to or not.

But would it be at all feasible to make it out of some sort of harder case? I picture like a 5"x4"x2" dice cup that could be lined with fleece or whatever so it's comfy for them. Hopefully that'd be big enough for a pair of gliders, but not so bulky as to be uncomfortable under your arm. Then that could be strapped under your shirt (over the shoulder & to the side) to keep them close & discreet.

Any thoughts?

All of this is stemming from having my two girls at work with me today, and having them both move all around under my shirt perpetually looking for someplace comfy to rest. I feel bad 'cause I don't think they're getting as much sleep as would in a pouch at home - every time I stand up from my desk they lose whatever "pocket" they've created in my shirt and have to move again. Not to mention, they seem to prefer the area just above the small of my back, which means I'm uncomfortable because I can't sit back in my chair. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

LOL...Sorry, I had to giggle about the 'Bro' thing... I tried to talk my husband into wearing a sports bra, and when he looked offended, I tried to tell him it was a 'Bro' for guys. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> (needless to say he thought I had lost it and wasnt falling for it.)

I dunno, I always thought a neat idea for a guy might be to get a mans undershirt tank top (you know one of those white form fitted tank tops some men wear under clothes...or I think they come in colors too.) and sew another piece of fabric on the front tummy part to make a pocket. You could even use another tank top and cut it up to make the pocket so it would match. Even get creative and sew a zipper on it or something if needed. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> (and I dont know if that made any sense at all...LOL.) Just a thought.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I thought of a "holster type" pouch for myself. Currently she is a bra baby, but sometimes i feel weird when people ask to see her and I reach down my shirt to pull her out. I get weird looks too. Most of the time I dont care, but I keep on going back to an idea that would be more convenient. Just look up gun holsters online. Im sure you could get the general idea for shapes and stuff. I think it cold work great! Then it would just take some experimenting to come up with something discreet, comfortable and safe. If i ever get around to putting together my own suggie website I will definitely sell guy stuff. I talk to my husband a lot about what he thinks would work. No killer ideas yet though

Yeah a gun holster is a good idea. I dont keep mine in my bra..not in the front anyway. When I work I usually wear a shirt that is kinda tight. I put my babies in their pouch adn put the pouch in between my shirt and my ribs. I always wear a shirt that is tight enough to keep the pouch from slipping but not skin tight so that they can move and adjust as needed. then I put on a sweater and noone knows they are under there. I think a guy could put that off if he could put on an undershirt that were tight enough to keep it from slipping..and/ or tuck the undershirt in then put on a heaver shirt or polo type shirt over it. I really dont think anyone would notice. It would work for school and such because sitting in a desk noone would see it, and work is the same unless you are working something that is manual in which case you would have to make a sling around the neck adn shoulder to hold the pouch, which I have done also and that works great.

I jokingly tried to get steve to try a sports bra for the babies. he declined

he has a sissy pouch. yeah, yeah, a sissy pouch. but it looks quite manly. he picked a non-girly print and it's so cool with the metal hooks and straps and such. he loves it.

i took chip away the other day so steve could get his hair cut and steve got sad and sad "i miss him" because he loves the way the pouch feels on his chest with his suggie in it.

My hubby uses a camera neck strap that is adjustable. He adjusts it so he can fit the pouch right up under his arm like you were talking about. So it goes aound his neck across his chest & the pouch lays under his arm. The kids love it cuz it's super warm there & it doesn't swing around like it does when it's just hanging from your neck. Also, you may think I'm silly, but you could buy a tube top for your "girlfriend" & wear it under your shirt like around your stomach to tuck your babies in. Just a thought!

what about someone making a Tshirt with a little pocket on the side made specially for gliders. Most men wear some sort of Undershirt, it could be sewn right on the side with a little opening for them. I have a picture in mind now. I just CANT sew or else I would make on lol.

[:"green"]So many great ideas! My mind is just whirling with the possibilities! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif" alt="" />
So far, what I have tried & is successful is a belt-pouch. I've made double-layered fleece draw-string pouches with belt-loops so that you can slip it onto your belt and wear it at your waist. I make them in both masculine & feminine prints. It's sort of a modified fanny-pack approach. (I actually made fanny packs for a while, but they were inconvenient. I always felt like I was wearing two belts... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />) The new belt-pouches are much more comfortable! I sent one to a guy-friend in Michigan who recently got a joey from me & they just love it! Hopefully I'll have them available on my site soon... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />
Now I'm going to have to investigate some of these other ideas cuz my mind is racing with possibilities! [/]

The sissy pouches are great. They don't go around your neck but has a 4 point hook system with an H harness type thing in the back. They are adjustable and extremely comfortable and don't bulge like a neck pouch does.

This isn't so much a guy idea, but as long as we're throwing ideas around, today I was wondering about making a fleece scarf with a pocket sewn onto it. You could tie it around your neck and have the pocket on the free end, a little ways up or two pockets, one on each end for multiple suggies. It would still swing around a little, but not as much as a pouch on a string. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />

What about if you had a pocket at the part that's right up against your neck? Then they wouldn't swing at all & you both would be extra warm! I couldn't do it though, I have a pet-peeve about things touching my throat!

Cool - does he ever have a problem with them getting squashed? How many gliders does he carry around that way?

Although novel, I think I'll pass on the tube top idea . . . <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

It sounds like I'm not the only one who's thought about this sort of thing, which is encouraging.

My fiance carries ours in a sleeveless hoody. I sewed up the one side of the pocket and the really like that. They can also go in between shirts if they want or in the hood. He just doesn't like when they go completely on his skin because Tipsy tends to bite him because Tipsy is bonded to me not him but,.. he still wants to carry all of them and work on getting a bond and trust with all of them.

He wasn't too hot on the tube top idea or the sports bra idea. He says he would prefer just to stick to his hoody.

When Gina gets her website up and running I know she has an awesome idea for a shirt thing that would work very well for guys. Don't want to give away too many details as she is not open for business yet.

Personally, I like the sleeveless hooded shrit that my fiance' had sewn the pocket shut on one side for them. I have need bit on the breast and the arm pit. It isn't the greatest feeling. They seem to enjoy the shirt anyways. They can sleep in the hood or the pouch.

He hasn't had any problems squishing them. He usually only carries one at a time that way, but that's just because I always carry our pair & our other 2 aren't friendly with eachother yet.

I think suspenders are hot on a guy, but only like with a business suit. You start throwing them on with jeans and you might as well throw in a pitch fork!

Yeah, I'm trying to avoid having any abnormal looking lumps, though. Which is why I don't think the sissy pouch will suit my needs either. I usually wear either a polo shirt or long-sleeve T during the week - can't really get away with any kind of sweatshirt at work (nor do I really like wearing them - too hot).

I tried getting them to stay in a side pocket of some cargo pants, but they didn't like that - way too much movement when I'm walking, and I think they prefer being under my shirt 'cause it's warmer & closer to me. Plus I had to be REAL careful not to squash them when they're in there. They'll climb in a front shirt pocket if I let them, but that's also a pretty obvious bulge with the two of them.

My boyfriend uses camera cases that clip to his belt. He has 2 gliders and this works perfectly. Nobody ever really even notices the case and when they do, they often just ask what type of camera he has <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

[:"purple"] I wouldn't be able to take mine to work with me... try explaining that one to my boss.. he already doesn't like it when customers come in carrying animals... plus, I don't think they'd like all the noise at my work. One day I did take one of mine in to work so that my co workers could see them and they were like omg those things are the cutest, do they bite, can I pet them... LOL.. but, out of everyone there that seen it.. only two people still work there.. the manager (who luckily never told my boss I brought it in because she is cool) and one of the grill cooks. I work in a fast food restaraunt. One of the girls was like if you ever have babies I want to buy one. but, then she has cancer now.. so I don't think now would be a good time to give her one. Plus I don't think my babies would like it at my work because I have to lean out the window and that is the coldest job there is at my place... even with a space heater right there. [/]

HaHaHa ll I just so happen to be a guy one of the few guys on this site lol.My mom Queenduck is a great sewer you can cheek out her site it is below.Or I found out that gliders just love pockets. Some times I put some fleece in my pocket and let them crawl right in and they love it.

Back to my mom she makes a "sissy pouch." It is a bonding pouch + a cage pouch it has a velcrow opening and ha straps her straps go around your back and hook both the top and botom of the pouch so it does not swing all over the place. You can ask any one that hwer pouches are great and it seems a little more sanatary when some one pulls a pouch out of there shirt then a little gliders out of there
"bra" I think.

Wow. Good thing your manager was so "cool" about things, I would hate to have seen what would have happened had the Health Dept. gotten wind of this. I don't think taking your gliders to work was a good idea... what if, during the process of showing your glider(s) to friends, etc., that s/he had gotten loose and jumped into the deep fryer? Flew (leapt, glided, etc.) out the window, or had landed in a customer's drink?

No a bra is sanatary but when you walk into a stor and some asks "What in the world is making those noises" and you just pull 2 gliders from your shirt. Thats kind of weird.I am used to it but I still find it unsanatary morwe then you pulling a pouch out from under your shirt.
