When we first got our 2 gliders we were advised to cup them, which was a disaster. After we tried doing that they hated us...they lunged and crabbed even if we went anywhere near their cage. We were devastated. We thought we ruined it forever. Some of you might remember me on here in a panic not knowing what to do. Slowly though we just kept going near the cage and we would give them treats through the cage. Once they were comfortable with that, we started putting our hands in the cage to feed them treats and eventually they would take them out of our hands. The boy was still very crabby and mean at times though. We were told when you neuter them often they will calm down. The day we brought him home from being neutered he was an angel. He hasn't crabbed at us since. The girl never crabbed at us. Now they are really starting to bond with us. We got the tent and go in there with them also. We were just playing with them, and they were climbing on us, eating in our hands, and they even let us pick them up. They are great now! So for those of you who are feeling discouraged, just remember that we were among the most discouraged people after the cupping disaster. I mean, they stood up and lunged and everything, but with time like everyone on here said, they are really warming up to us. Thanks guys for all your advice.

I was also told to cup mine but I have never attempted it, it just seems wrong. I wouldn't want to be trapped like that. I've only had mine for a week and the female is very affectionate toward me. The male sounds like you're male, but I'm also having mine neutered, (as much as I would love babies, I can't handle the responsibility)I hope he cheers up once he is neutered as well.

I am so glad to hear things are working out so well for you!! I remember your post and I think I even responded to it. I am so happy to hear of the great time you are having with your little ones. Success stories are always wonderful to hear!!!!

awww you give me hope!! my lil man was bad, then turned good, but now that we moved he started being grumpy so i tried the tent thing last week, and like after one day hes been alot better, he lets me put my hands in his bag, i took him to the store w/no crabbing what so ever..but..unfortunately he will be getting nuetered next week, because i bought him a lil girl for xmas!! and hes abou 8 months old shes only 10 wks so i dont want him attackin her or anything..she seems alot more affectionate, gave my hands a lick w/out biting afterwards but shes still afraid of me, gonna give her some time to get use to the new house and then im gonna work hard on the bonding..k i wrote a book here so im off now..congrats on your experiences though, i hope mine work out just as good!
