Anyone have any solid info on Ginger Root being ok to feed the gliders? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />I haven't been able to find any info on it at all.

I like to cook with it, & they seem interested in the smell, but I'm afraid to let them try it.

I too love the smell of ginger root...I use it when I make teriaki. Good question, I am clueless if it is ok though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ohwell.gif" alt="" />.

I was able to locate the following online, at least in reference to "animals", but still nothing pertaining specifically to gliders~sigh~
http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/animalflower.htm states that ginger root is used in a tonic for animals with stomach upset...
http://www.wholisticanimal.com/Herbs.html states that it has several medicinal uses...

Mine have pirated some ginger from the cutting board before and they are still alive(they didn't seem to happy with the taste) Mine have plenty of favorites to choose from so I guess I never had any reason to consider feeding it to them. So, at least you know it probably won't kill them...although I'd imagine to a glider it would have to be pretty intense stuff!

I have used ginger root to calm the stomach of a carsick dog. On the other hand, this dog was quite a bit bigger than a sg and we gave him a very small amount of ginger. It worked to cure the dog's carsickness, but I don't know if I'd give it to the gliders - things that seem spicy to us are often toxic to little mammals and insects.
