Hi and welcome!
wfb = white faced blonde
het is short for heterogenous, and means that they carry a gene for being white faced, but it doesn't show on them
The one in the tree is white, it's called leucistic. That means it's solid white, with no colors or stripes. And black eyes. There's also albino, which has no pigmentation - pink eyes and translucent ears, but the one in the Christmas tree isn't albino.
I haven't found a glossary yet, but another standard abbreviation is OOP - Out of Pocket. If I think of any others or find a list I'll post it here.

Sorry if I am comparing apples to oranges but I bred dogs for many years. (I no longer breed due to so many getting killed in the pound...)Are white gliders geneticly defective and have health problems like in many dog breeds? example white dobes, danes and boxers.
I am trying to study the pics but some of these colors are confusing the differences sometimes are very small

No, White gliders are not defective. It is a genetic quality that has been cultivated. However, I understand albanios are caused from a genetic defect as with all animals. I could be wrong.

White (leucistic) are different from albino, which many consider to be geneticly defective in other animals. I don't know whether a glider who is albino could be considered such, but a leucistic definitely isn't (leucistic is white but has black eyes and therefore isn't lacking in pigmentation as albinos do)

A white characteristic does not necessarily mean the animal has a defect. For example, I have a perfectly healthy white male boxer. As far as the boxer's go, it is a stigmata that is too commonly known and believed. (Sorry for )

Albinoes are a mutation in the genes. They aren't a color group, per se, like cinnamons, grey, etc...

The little white baby girl in the Christmas arrangement is white. The yellowness seen in her fur right now if from her Daddy. He marks her to prove that she is his.
Once removed from her parents...the yellow fur will shed out gradually and she will be all white.

KarenAnn brings up some interesting things. I think it would be nice if we had a glossary of terms..it would be very useful. And It seems there is no "standard" for deciding what color something is so maybe if a glossary were created it could begin to set some standards. (the post comes to mind that is not too old about someone wondering about people selling typical greys w/ slight variations as "special" colors). I think it would be cool.
I have wondered the same thing about gentetic mutations. I know it happens in dwarf hamsters because I read on them before I got mine and there was a lot of cross breeding to produce colors but as it turned out several mutations that were produced caused gliders to run in circles constantly, some could not see right, etc. Some died shortly after birth. I dont think this is the case w/ colored gliders (yet) but hopefully people will be cautious in this breeding of colors so this will not happen. I know the people that do so now are careful, but hopefully it will not become so widespread that it causes these mutations.

Darkstarr, no offence on your white boxer but I have rescued many boxers, danes, dobes and pits that were deaf due to the white mutation.They were not necessarily albinos either. Inability to be in the sun and major skin problems were also issues. I think the white dogs are beautiful but I never bred for the white dog in fear of them being deaf or having other problems. To relate that to gliders, I also love the white gliders but would like to know if they were special needs like many of the dogs or atleast to be at risk. I may be interested in a leucistic when I know more.
