My oldest glider, ashes, has been having some odd bowel(poop) problems. Just a while ago she pooped what looked like blood in her poo! This is the first time we have had a sick glider. WHAT DO I DO?

What do you think it is? I'm so afraid its something very serious! COuld it be the watermelon, (seedless) i gave her? she's had it before and loves it. None of this happened the last time i gave her watermelon! her pee smells a little funny too. She's on a BML diet, and has been driking water.

Are you certain it was blood? Sometimes watermelon, if given in large amounts, can cause the feces to be a reddish color and somewhat soft...

MizValorie!
Pardon me for not knowing -- but is this glider your baby?

So is she still going to the vet to be checked out, or just watching to make sure all is well? I hope it was just the watermelon and nothing serious. hug2

I think that it was just the watermellon as she and her sisters have taken a long nap and are all now up a acting normal. The stool was just reddish in color and probably a side affect of the watermellon. My daughter was posting earlier and I think she got a little overconcerned. She has forgotten that the gliders are used to a quiet house for them to sleep in during the day and now with us here during the day for the summer they are not getting the uninterrupted sleep they were used to. I know how grouchy I am if I have to get up several times during the night. Thanks for everyones concerns and we will keep you updated.

Hey, I'm glad she seems to be doing okay. Your daughter said she was getting cold? Has she continued that?

Please do keep us dated.
