Does anyone use fleece as there tray liner? I read a post the other day that said something about this so i wondered how easy it was to deal with? Would it smell more than just newspaper? If anyone does this let me know the pros and cons! Thank you so much!

I don't use fleece. I started out with some pellets from a pet store. But I found that our joey was biting them. I don't think he was actually eating them, just chewing them up. So I switched to plain white paper towels. I have to change them more often, but it keeps the smell down. Diane

If you use it in they try (where they can't get to it) I would shake it out EVERY day and then wash it at LEAST once a week. Maybe put a little baking soda ontop to help with the smell. I hope this helps.

I know of fleece being used with great results. i personally use corncob, without any problem. its mostly just a preference of the owener.

I know ILOVESUGGIES suggest baking soda on it, and I definitely recommend that if they can't get to the fleece. I use baking soda on top of my puppy pee pads all the time. I've noticed a big difference in the odor since I've started using it

You know I was using fleece but I have to pay per load of laundry to wash n dry so it worked out cheaper to use the assure bed pads (they fit my cages great)(you can get next to the depends for adults at walmart)even changing them twice, it was cheaper than washing for me and the smell was so much better than the fleece liners if I had to keep a pile to make a load. But hey the fleece did work and if I had my washer n dry hooked up I would probably still use them.

Hi, I use a fleece blanket in the bottom of my reptarium. I shake it out daily and wash as needed. I do use the 'glider kitchen' also.My gliders love it.

I use puppy training liners to line the bottom of the cage. They work pretty well, especially if you change them every day or every other day.
I use fleece to make ropes for them to climb on (on the ceiling in my room). They really seem to like that.

Canstar--first, great avatar--looks exactly like my Gerry and one of my kids--must be white cats are just smarter!
I have used fleece, indoor/outdoor grass, newspaper, puppy pads and "Yesterday's News" (recycled newspaper litter). Out of all them, fleece was the easiest to deal with, if you have enough of it, and it is below the floor. It is easy to roll up, shake out and toss in the machine, if under the mesh floor. If you have 3 pieces for every cage, you should be in good shape, just change it every few days. Also, help yourself out by sewing in small magnets at the corners to weight it down, and add seams to prevent fraying from washing! no fabric softener! The best thing, no ink, fully reusable and pretty too!
