Ok heres the deal. I built my own cage. But I couldnt find anything but hardware cloth. The flexible plastic kind. I went to every hardware home imp place I could think of. So I settled and built the cage out of this. I used pvc piping and zip tied it togther. So since its very flexible material my suggies (mostly my girl) can push the door open unless I zip tie it shut every night. Thats a pain in the butt!!! So I was wondering if someone knew what I should do?? I'm going crazy!! PLease help!! thanks

Without being able to see the cage the only thing I can think of for you to do is to reinforce the edges of the door and hinge. You could possibly use something like the door gaurd material that comes from the factory on new cars. It is a black strip that snaps on the edge of the door to protect against dinging and chips. If you go to your local auto parts store to find it. You could probably hot glue ti in place. Just make sure there is no excess glue sticking out for your little one to chew on.
I hope this helps some. I am sure there are others on here with more cage building experience than me that may have some good ideas.

I don't quite understand what material you used to build the cage. PVC piping? As the frame?

Find some firm plastic of some sort that you can fit around the edge of the door as well as around the door opening. That might help.

[:"blue"] I think she has used the plastic mesh rather than the coated wire mesh so the solutions mentioned probably aren't going to work very well.
It's not real easy to put a secure door in a cage made with the plastic mesh. The most common solution I have seen is as follows. You make a square/rectangular frame out of 1/2" PVC pipe that is about an inch bigger than the dimensions of the opening in your cage. Then you secure that frame in the opening using cable ties about every inch. Next you make another frame that will fit inside the first with only about 1/4" of clearance.(This will be the actual door) Cut a piece of mesh that is about 1" larger than the "INSIDE" dimensions of the door frame and again using cable ties at about one inch intervals, attach the mesh to the door frame. You can use two or three more cable ties as hinges and a small bungee cord or whatever else suits you as a latch to keep the door closed.
Hope that is not too confusing. Holler if you have any questions or PM me. [/]
