Will my gliders get lonely if one day I decide to just take one with me for a ride like, to the store or something?

Doubt it because most gliders will go right back to sleep after being awoken. The worst case senario is resentment for taking his warm breathing blanket away for a short time.

sounds about right Matt. lol. I have 10 gliders and I often take just one with me, leaving behind either their cage mate or the rest of the colony. Everyone seems ok with it.

Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.

Ok, thanks everyone. I'm thinkin' I'll have a little trouble fitting both of them in my bra if I don't feel like using a pouch. ^_^

I'm glad this subject came up! I have a question along the same lines... as far as taking gliders to places like grocery stores, Wal-mart, the post office, etc.... Since most of these places have "no pets allowed" policies, I've been wondering if anyone has ever had a problem taking their glider in? Has anyone ever gotten upset at you for bringing an animal in the store... or do most people just think you have a purse hanging around your neck and not even realize there's an animal in there???

I have taken my gliders to stores like you mentioned. No ever will no what you have in that bag and no one will ask. I try to take them with me as much as I can especially when I know its one of those night that I am not able to play with them.

I carry my 2 in my bra top everywhere. No one has said anything. My husband thinks I am crazy. I always have their travel pouch with me just in case. There is usually this center 'breast' that is a little larger than the other 2. HeHe. Tomorrow I have a doctor app. I think I will leave them home since I may have to undress.

I have wondered the same thing! I've told hubby that I want one of those purses that have a glider pocket and a everything else pocket for Keeva. I do take her into the smaller stores and I have snuck her into grocery stores before, but as far as Walmart and big ones, I haven't had the guts yet. I havn't had the guts to sneak her into a resturant yet either. I'm afraid they will catch me with her and throw me out!!

I took my guys to a study session before one of my finals last semester... I had em in a sissy pouch under my sweatshirt... 1 girl asked me how far along I was (meaning she thought I was pregnant)... I was laughing too hard to answer her and she just walked away confused... but I didn't get in trouble for having em w/ me!

My mom used to bring her teacup pomeranian with her to places like Wal-mart and no one ever made her leave. I think you can pretty much get away with taking them anywhere, just use your judgement. Always be prepared to take your meal to go at a restaurant, but I bet that will hardly ever happen. I plan on taking mine lots of places with me.

I'm glad the topic was brought up - I was thinking that I'd like to bring the gliders one at a time to work with me most of the time, so it's good to know.

Just like Faierie said, about the pommeranian, I have a similar story. I was in the animal section buying a cat litter try when i looked over to the woman next to me. To my surprise she had one of those little "doggie purses" with her little Jack Russle Terrier puppy poking his little head out!! As for Wal Mart, I dont think they are very strict on the no animals policy!! LOL

0o0o0o0o yay! I am glad this topic was brought up too!
ok here's my question...
I only have one glider right now...and I keep him at my boyfriends house right because I am there a lot more than my apartment. I am always at his place at night to play with the glider and everything. But during the day I go back to my apartment for a few hours. Should I bring him in his pouch when I go back to my apartment? If so...I take the bus...will this disturb him?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Having him in a pouch that you wear around helps the bonding process. I have taken mine on the bus and it doesn't disturb them. I commute from one end of town to the other, so in the evenings I ride the bus & commuter train. I am lucky in that the bus I ride has maybe 3 other people on it, and the train isn't usually crowded. But I don't imagine that the noises would bother them.

I agree with Faierie. Actually, this afternoon I had Dante with me during rush hour on the bus and train full of people. He's gotten used to being around a lot of people. I simply had my hand in the pouch and he licked me as I stroked his head and neck, and he slept through the whole trip.

ok well that's good to know that I can do that...but we still aren't fully bonded yet...should I wait a bit longer before I attempt to take him anywhere with me? or is this just better for the bonding?

If you would like to take your glider out with you and you are not fully bonded and kind of nervous about it, I would recommend getting a sissy pouch from Sweet and Sour. This way you can keep your suggie with you securely yet bond at the same time.

If he won't easily come back to you, I wouldn't take him anywhere yet. I wouldn't take my gliders anywhere until I no longer have to "catch" them.

I have only had my suggie for about 3 weeks and we have gone to Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Brandsmart, Publix, and out to nice restaurants. Nobody has ever questioned my bonding pouch - nevermind it has a flower print!

I take my glider with me frequently. She is in a fleece pouch stuffed in my sports bra. It is only a problem if we are out for lunch - she wants some! It is pretty hard to discreetly stuff food in your shirt, but it is doable.... The only place I won't take her again is the dentist - the high frequency noise of the teeth cleaning device really bothered her, although the office staff love when I bring her.

I am getting my glider this weekend, and was wondering about bringing him places. Especially work, because i work at a large pet store, so i am around alot of animals. Will this work out? or will the glider be worked up around the other animals i work with and am handling?

DebDe- I couldn't help but picture you out to lunch w/glider lol that is too funny. I have taken my gliders a few places in their pouch because a lot of people have asked me to bring them along but on day I had them with me under my sweatshirt and they started wiggling around and making their funny little noises, I have never had such strange looks before and how do you explain? I just got what I needed and left very quickly. I don't think most people in the store even know what to say, even if they wanted to comment on the movement or noises in your shirt.
