Ok, here's the deal, my little girl glider was the sweetest glider I have ever seen. She trusted me 100% and always wanted to go everywhere with me. She was in with another girl and guy. The guy is too old to breed. About a month or two ago I moved her into another cage with another guy I have. She was doing fine for the first couple weeks and now she has gotten totally agressive. If I come near the cage she runs over, pushes her nose against the side, and reaches through to try and grab me and scratch me. If I open the cage, she runs over and tries to bite the [censored] out of me. I don't understand the change. I was thinking maybe she is pregnant and that is why she is like that but I have had other glider mom's and they have never been like this!!! Can anyone help me with some info or ideas to help it?!?! Thanks...

what is her age? sounds like she may be an *alpha* glider and does not like the smell of any of glider around.
I know exactly what you are going through, as I have the same thing going on here.
After receiving some really good advice from others what I do is after my shower in the morning, I come out take their pouch out and go into another room where there is no scent at all of any other gliders around and mine is perfectly fine.
Now at night time is a different story, as soon as he is up and can smell the other gliders he acts the same way as you are describing, and constantly scenting up a storm.
I was wanting him and his mate to have a joey or two but instead I am making an appointment to have him neutered so he can once again, hopefully, be my bra baby even at night.

Hope this helps. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />

If you want to know what a person is like, watch how he treats others.

You'll never know what the outcome is if you don't step up and try.

She is almost a year old... will be in a couple weeks. That sounds like a plausible explanation but I used to work at a pet store and she has been around sooo many different animals and sooo many gliders and has never done this before. She has always been lovable and interested. Just recently has she been like this, it really seems to be out of no where!!! I want my sweet little girl back!

If she did have one, are there any other signs I should look for?

I think she's probably very upset at her living changes. Gliders stay in the same colonies for life, and develop very close bonds. You can't keep switching her partners and expect her to tolerate it. Not only that, but switching partners can be very dangerous. If you put her with a male that was male territorial you could wind up with injuries or death of a glider.

Here's a site you should read over: http://www.glidersanonymous.com/introductions.html

I'm really not sure what you should do with her in the meantime. Was she happier with the older glider? Was she happier alone? Does it seem like the new male and her are going to be happy together, or should you consider a previous living arrangement?
