I have seen several references to a "glider kitchen". What is it?? Do you have a picture?

That helped. Thanks. Do you sit that on the bottom of the cage or hang it somehow?

it sits on a shelf, but the bottom of the cage will work too... since it has a top it's ok on the bottom since they can't spoil it by dropping things into it

How big does the shelf need to be to sit something that large onto it? What is the shelf made out of? Any pics of your cage that has this shelf? Sorry so many questions.

As I mentioned in another of your posts I have a reptarium. I used a 'corner shelf unit" and attached to the bars. then every night I sit their 'kitchen ' on the shelf. I use the same 'kitchen' that BMX girl used. It is so easy and their stuff for the most part stays inside.

In my experience, there's no less food left at the bottom of the cage. My babies like to grab a bite, run out of the kitchen, eat, run back in. Silly babies.

For those of you that use the glider kitchen do you also have food trays that attach to the cage to keep food in?

No, I just put a paper plate down on the bottom (it fits perfectly) and I bought a small bowl from PetCo yesterday to put the BML in - that goes in the very center. (I bought the bowl because Damon kept getting his tail in it!) And then I put veggies to one side and fruit to the other.

I haven't had problems keeping the food in. I suppose they could carry it out of the kitchen, but they seem content to leave it in there.

Sorry I haven't been back to this posts as yet. I use different small dishes in mine 'kitchen'. The mess usually for the most part stays in the kitchen.
No I do not use any other food trays other than what I put in the kitchen Including their water dish. Works for us.

Hi All
Just wanted to share with ya'll what we use. This is similar to what Felicity has as a kitchen in her cage. I love it. When it gets dirty, I can throw it into the dishwasher and its good to go again that night at dinner time. Not only does it keep her food messes inside, but it also keeps the fecal droppings out.

Hope this helps!

I wouldn't 'hang' the kitchen either place it on a shelf or the bottom.
Kayla those kitchens are cool..............
I like the clear ones though as I can see through them.

Kayla, with all due respect, do you really think you should take an idea that was to given to the GC community by BMXGirl years ago named the *Glider Kitchen* and turn it into a profit for yourself without even changing the name of it? Here is where you can find where it originated from.

Unfortunately there have been a lot of people as of lately coming too awfully close if not identical to other peoples ideas and products. To me, taking someone elses idea without their written consent is not a proper thing to do.
This is including toys (such as some of yours that resemble others) when your originality in making toys show that you have the capablility of coming up with your own ideas.

I encourage all that would like be creative to step up with your own original ideas and have fun with it. Please above all things keep the gliders safety in mind and lets be original.

Well said Peggy That idea was bought to the community as an idea to help other members and out of the kindness of Hope's heart shared it with us instead of making a profit. In my own opinion, I don't think its fare to borrow or steal someone elses design and try and make a profit No matter toy, pouch, etc.

Bravo Peggy!! I love to see all the creative ideas that others come up with but when someone steals anothers work its just wrong. Over the years we have all shared ideas to help others from the goodness of our hearts but taking that idea and blantly using it for profit isn't what this community is about. I work for the love of the glider not the love of the almighty do$$ar...

I'm very sorry, it was a misunderstanding on my part in regards to the "glider kitchen." I had not done my research as to "who" created it and simply put a generic "Thanks to the great minds at GC Message board" as credit to creating this item on the website. As a side note, i also posted those on the website quite late and have been inflicted with a terrible migrain the past 3 days. My creative ability at coming up with a better name was not functioning, and thus i kept it the same and gave credit to the GC Message board members. No excuse i know and i have apologized to Hope for leaving her out. I'm going to go change the name when i finish this post.

I did not go out thinking, oh my gosh, great money making idea, when i saw this. I heard about it a couple month ago from a glider kitchen user and have been using them myself. A couple days ago, i found these neat colored bowls and bought them to replace my plain boring ones. While i was at it, i thought, i wonder if others would like these colors? So i picked up all that i could find of them. If i wanted to make money on them, i would be selling them for more than $4 and $6.

Many people email me all the time asking how i make something, or what i use, and i am more than happy to tell them so they can save the money. I make my items for those that do not feel crafty, or want to take the time to make them themselves. Yes, you can make your "glider kitchen" for a couple bucks less. Or you can buy one of the few i bought as extras and not have to deal with it. This will most likely not be a permanent item on my website, i doubt i'll be able to find the bowls again. I just thought i would offer the colors since they were neat.

I sincerely apologize for taking someones idea to make a buck. To be honest, we wont be making anything on them come this weekend as i was going to use them as a special. If you purchase one with your order, you get free shipping, so there goes all profit.

I do not make but a few extra pennies by selling these toys. January's profit was $19. For those that know me, you know i am an Army wife who's husband has been deployed for a year and picked this up as something to keep me busy. My husband recently returned, but i enjoy making the toys. It gives me something to do. We are looking at another deployment in the next 8 months, and i am so happy i have this little business to keep me busy for yet another year. This was never a "get rich quick" idea. LoL. Last month was the first month I made a profit.

To the pouch creators out there. Do you get mad when other people start up a pouch business? I mean, how many different ways can one make pouches, obviously a lot have to copy, whether intentional or not. Its very sad that as a toy maker, if you have anything somewhat similar as anothers, we get in trouble. I try to stay unique and come up with new ideas, any who have been to my website can see that.

I am truely sorry for stepping on toes yet again. I know this comunity really sticks together and after making such a big blunder, i will not be easily forgiven. I would like to thank all the wonderful people who have given me a chance and purchased my products, and hope to keep in touch with all my new friends i have made. I hope to not offend anyone any further here, so I will no longer post on this site.

Again, i'm very sorry for offending anyone.

The one thing that is really troubling me is that re-naming it and giving someone credit is STILL taking their idea and profiting from it. And I think it's safe to say that is wrong, especially in such a tight knit community like GC where we all trust one another with ideas.

Over the years, we've had many people come forward and share their ideas so others can benefit from them, too. Hope is definitely one of these people. I only worry that the direction GC is taking will keep people from sharing these ideas with others for their own personal use . GC is a tight knit community and we should be able to fully trust one another that everyone's ideas will not be used for personal profit- whether it's intentional or not.

I have been a pouchmaker a very long time, and no, I do not get "mad" when another pouchmaker comes on the scene, as long as the product they are making has been researched and is as safe as possible for the suggie's out there. That's not easy to do . However, yes I do take complete offense when I have taken the time to create an original idea, done my research, and someone copies the idea for a profit. That is stealing and offensive. I do not mind whatsoever if they copy for their own use . The glider community is a small community, and for years people have worked together, not against each other, for the good of the glider. I am just saddened it seems to be changing.

Whoa. Normally I run the opposite way from controversial posts. (I know, I'm a coward, lol).. But.. I DO have one question.. no complaints.. no side taking or anything, I swear.. lol.. but does Hope sell these things herself? I can totally understand the arguement if she does, and someone else 'steals' the idea to make money, undercutting her prices, and running off with her profit. But if she doesn't sell them herself.. I dont see TOO much wrong with using an idea and helping others get them who can't get them for themselves. Though.. I can see where a new name would have been appropriate. ANYway.. like I said.. just curious about that part of it.. whether Hope sells these as a business too, like the other examples.. of copying ideas from one seller to prophit another were. Please nobody yell at me.. I WILL Cry. lol. Luv Ames!
