Part of the noise - the clicky sound - is the noise mine make when they are happy, especially when eating. Part of it sounds like crabbing - but just a little. Crabbing usually means they are unhappy, but mine seem to make "the beginning of the crabbing sound" when they are happy also. It's hard to explain, it's like they are just talking though.

When are your gliders making this noise?

well Roxys baby popped out of the pouch on saturday the 5th ... the noise started a few days before. They do it during the day right now ...a few days ago it was at night before they flipped their schedule around on me.

i have noticed my suggie making the same noise. her babies came oop on jan. 20. i noticed her making the noise at night around 11 so i went up to see what was going on and both joeys were on her belly as meeka was running around the cage. i think she was making that sound because she didn't want the joeys with her, she wanted to run in the wheel and they wanted to eat. i watched her for about 15 min. crabbing at them. she never hurt them, just didnt want to be bothered.

I have joeys coming out soon too. Last night my gliders were making this noise ALOT. It was so different that my whole family came in to hear. I too wondered what was going on in the sleeping pouch.

I do think it is a good noise. My male had been out playing and exporing a new toy. He went into the pouch to visit (maybe wake up?) my female Honey. I thought it sounded like lovey noises.

I'd love to know what the experts think.

all three of my ladies do this every night at dinner time. sometimes they do it all night. i think it's a good sound. maybe they are content. or maybe they are telling each other what a great cook mommy is.

My females do it a lot just before their babies come out of pouch and then sometimes after that.

My Dante will make those sounds while in his sleep. lol Gliders do dream and sleep talk, too. It's a sign of an active, working mind!

Do your gliders have joeys on the way, or just OOP?

Oops, I didn't read far enough. I call this sound 'singing' and it's either mom or joey, while nursing, I think. That's why I asked if you had a joey...then, when I read further, I saw that you did. The sound is perfectly normal.

Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.

I first heard that when Luna's babies came oop. Thats the only time I have heard it. Because I have yet to hear Spyro and Molly "sing".

Have you noticed that the female is "vibrating" as she makes the noise? Whenever I have heard that sound the female is usually shaking the nursing babies off of herself. I think it is usually her way of telling them to let go and stop nursing. I have only heard it when the joeys are oop or in/out of pouch. The first time I hear the sound from each female is when their joey has emerged completely for the first time. Your joeys still have amonth to go though, so that kind of blows my theory to pieces.

No she wasn't vibrating. She had just checked her pouch and was rearanging herself to go to sleep.

By the way GizmosGal, I think you meant to post in this thread post Sorry for the confusion
