I haven't gotten my suggies yet, but I'm coming across alot of questions. I want to make sure I do the right thing from the beginning.

As I was doing laundry, I was wondering if it's ok to use fabric softener like Downey when washing pouches, fabric hammocks and such. Will it be harmful to suggies?

Thanks in advance!

It won't be harmful to them but they might not like the scent of the fabric softener and may over scent the pouches to make them smell like them.

On the rare occasion I use softener on the pouches and other fabric stuff, I use the Downy free and sensitive (white bottle). It has no dyes or perfumes in it.

The best soap and softener to use is the soap that is used for pepole who have alleriges and are sensitive. The only thing I use in their laundry is Tide (unscented) and baking soda to get rid of any odors. Works great for me.

I haven't had a problem with washing their pouches with fabric softener. They go right in and fall asleep again.

I wash all my gliders things with the same stuff I use, regular soap, liquid softener and than a dryer sheet in the dryer. I have never had a problem with it and they have never refused a pouch. What I also do however, is put one of their smelly blankies in the clean pouch for the first night and than remove it the following morning for cleaning. This way it creates their smell in the pouch and they dont have the need to overscent. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />
