Luna and I aren't quite bonded yet and she doesn't totally trust me. The other day I was sleeing in my room and was dreaming about Luna and in my dream she was crawling on my body. It took 3 times before I realized she really WAS crawling on me. She had ecscaped through a tiny space in her cage where the zipper wasn't totally closed. I tried to catch her but she ran and hid under my king bed against the corner. It was 12:30 and the night before the first day of school and I figured she could run around until I got home the next day. The next day she was no where to be found. My family and I searched my room from top to bottom. I had no idea where she was. It was then that I noticed a tiny whole beside my air-conditioner and the window. Luna was no where to be found and the whole family was upset. For 2 days we kept searching not expecting her to still be alive after 2 days alone. That night when my mom open the window, she heard a small noise. IT WAS LUNA!!!!! She was on our 2 story roof in the gutter. We set up a ladder and placed her pouch in the gutter and waited. She crawled in and when we put her back in her cage she drank and drank and dived for her BML and applesauce. It was now been 2 additional days and she has fully recovered from her expidition. I guess she used her instincts to stay alive. I am so glad my mom heard her and it is still a mystery how she was able to get on the HIGHEST part of the roof. I am just glad she is ok and still happy and loving. Logan & Luna C :]

Wow! I'm really glad this had such a happy ending! What an amazing story, and what a good illustration of making sure your house is glider-proofed. We often don't think of the areas around windows and air conditioners. Thanks for the warning.

wow, your really lucky you found her. On august 4th I wasn't so lucky when Piper and Basil escaped from there cage. I still don't know how they got out. What I'm doing now is always always always close the toilet they can escape and be playing and gliding around when you are asleep, fall in the toilet and drown. That is what happend to Basil. Also I put those baby plug things in the electrical socets. I don't know what else you could do, block off all the small dangerous spaces. Oh and make sure you close the cage door or whatever really really well, I'm adding a few more latch's to make sure it REALLY closes. Just remember you were very lucky this time, if it happens again you might not be, I learned that the hard way. I don't want to sound mean or anything, I just want to warn you and stuff, I don't want the same thing to happen to other people.

Glad you found her. Just to be on the safe side you might want to take a stool sample to the vet just on the chance she ate a "wild" bug. "Wild" bugs unlike "farmed" can carry parasites and could be exposed to pesticides. Keep an eye on her. I don't mean to scare you, just a word of caution. Hope it all turns out ok.

I will see about taking a stool sample to the vet. I want her to be perfectly ok. I do need to glider proof my room better, the outcome of this was rare and we are lucky. Thanks everyone Logan & Luna
