Hey everybody. I have been thinking a lot about cage cleaning. I clean out their cages, but I can't seem to bring myself to use cleaners. I will just take everything out and hand wash it, and get all of their extra food, etc. out...but when it comes to using cleaners I am just nervous that they might get sick from them. Is there any particular cleaners people use and know are safe to use? I'd really like to find something that will work better because afterwards the cage still has an odor. I hope someone knows. I just want to keep my babies safe. Thanks

Vinegar and water is safe. Also a 10% bleach solution is safe providing it is rinsed very well.

Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.

I use the all natural orange cleaners. It smells great and isn't chemically.

I use vinegar and water and it works great for me. I usually soak the cage for about 10mins first and everything wipes right off.

You can get a completely safe, biodegradable, non-toxic cleaner at Target. I cannot recall its name. Comes in scents like Grapefruit and is in a simple, clear bottle.

Okay, the Non-toxic cleaner that I got for my babies cage is called "method". It is avaliable at Target, and is completely non-toxic and biodegradable.

I use Nature's Miracle stain and odor remover- it's safe for use around children and pets. I get it at the local pet store. I like it for wiping down the cage.
As for cleaning the cage, my husband and I bought the shark steam cleaner- the steam will soften anything gunked on the cage and then just wipe it down. It's got an attachment for small places too.
