I got binkie one of those hampster balls in both the big size and the smaller sizes and he loves them, he can roll around the apartment for about an hour a night with out me worrying about him getting lost and then it has one of those stands that holds it, so he can run in place. Do any of you have one of these?

Yes I have 2 of them; a pink and a yellow.Be careful with them as I have had the experience of the top popping off. So I only use them under careful supervision. My gliders use them but they prefer the stealth wheels for their exercise.

I was so excited to read this, only because I thought about getting one for each of my little guys. Then I wasn't sure if it was a good idea. But it sounds like your gliders really like them, and Simon and Garfunkle love to be out with me and playing, I bet they would really enjoy running around the computer room!

Some glider owners don't think these toys are safe.. though I have used them and never had a problem. I do make sure my gliders nails a trimed before they go for a spin around the house just in case. I have heard of very bad stories about broken toes or nails.. so make sure you check all their little pinkies once they are done playing! And don't forget to take pictures.. cause we all know how cute and silly they look hopping around in that ball!

when im to tired to watch him, or when im busy, i just hook the glider ball up to its stand and let him run around in place. he seems to like it just about the same. im kinda worried about the broken finger thing now. Ill keep an eye out for it

Also remember to listen or watch if the top pops off. I have had the top pop off twice now. Also make sure they are always washed & rinsed thoroughly. I read someone's glider got very sick from one. Have great fun.

Double check each "air hole" on the ball to make sure there are no sharp edges. With the balls being molded plastic, there could be. Also, they are much safer on non capreted floors. The problem with them and their toes is them catching their toenails on the carpet. Also, be careful of stairs!

Good idea with checking for sharpe edges. Do the cotton ball test like you would on a cage. Take a cotton ball and slide it around the ball to see if it catches on anything.

also.. when they are on non carpeted floors.. you have to be careful of the lid popping off because twice now I have had gliders on hardwood floors ramming into things full speed and their lids popped off.. and out they jumped.. and of course went to the highest place in the room waiting for momma...

i have two sizes for binky. The smaller ball and the larger ball. I put him in the larger ball when im tired and cant pay 110% attention to him while he's rolling around. Now that you've mentioned the finger breaking thing, and the carpet i think ill discontinue the use of the larger ball because of the larger air holes. The smaller balls air holes are MUCH smaller and i figure he has less of a chance of getting his little fingers hooked on the carpet. To bad i dont have hard wood floors. Also, with the top popping off thing, i put a scrunchee around it, where he cant chew it. It JUST misses the air holes and he roles around just fine But then again, im over protective and when i dont hear him crashing into things i check on him and when i do hear him crashing into things i check on him.
