I was planning on getting binky a companion further down the line, probably 3+ months along the line. What would be the best match? I dont know if i want joeys. Would it be illegal to get a female and for them to have a joey? Because i know you have to have a USDA liscense to breed. Im rather new with the whole joey situation

Hi Binky, I do not know how old your glider is. But I do know that you can not place a younger glider in with an older (sexually mature) un-neutered glider without some degree of risk (there are always exceptions, I think, but why take a chance?). Not that long ago, I was looking for a companion for my SugarBear (Sugi), and I was advised to find an older female, and even then, to carefully follow the "Introducing Two Gliders" instructions very carefully. Check this link: http://www.sugargliderinfo.com/tips/intros.htmlIt is not illegal to get a female and let them have babies, AS LONG AS you do not have more than three breeding females (of any species) in your household -- the last that I had heard, anyway -- and this topic always seems to be a matter of some debate. So, an older female could do the trick. I am sure a Moderator will respond to your question much better than I have, but this was "just a quickie" to give you an idea... good luck!

thanks. the girl i got binky from said he was about 8 months old, so im estimating he's about 9 months old. he has his scent gland, and his bald spot already. An older female sounds like the way to go, im just worried that shes going to have baggage and wont bond with me. I got lucky with binky, he has the greatest disposition. I dont really want to get him neutured. The idea of having joeys and another female in 6 months to a year is nice
