You'll notice a significant difference from when you first got her. She'll seem more at ease around you, crab less, interact with you more. Lots of people notice they're on their way to bonding if something startles their glider and it runs to them for protection! I know mine are bonded because they'll let me do ANYTHING to them. My little man was recently neutered, and someone expressed their surprise at how willing he was to let me flip him over and look at the incision for however long I want! Personally, I don't think there is a "bonded" glider- I think you're continually bonding . Basically, you'll know when she is bonded to you. You'll just feel it and know that she trusts you . That's how I knew, at least. Corny, but true

Ahhh a bonded glider....many will tell you how they tell their glider is bonded to them and for the most part you will get different views from different owners, so let me tell you how I know mine are bonded to me.

My first pair Pepper and Bear, for the longest time, I knew they *loved me* and *Trusted me* but they were not so much the *Social glider*. They would prefer to be in their cage over anywhere else or with anyone else. What made me realize they were bonded was when Bear finally had a Joey in Pouch (Dasher ) and she would stretch herself laying down over my hand so I could feel him *dashing* all over inside the pouch (hence the name), than once he came out of pouch they would bark to me at night when they first woke up, I would go over and get dasher out, pepper and bear would play for a while and than Pepper would hiss to me to bring his baby back and they would go into the pouch. They did this literally nightly....to be called to joeysit is a true sign that your glider not only trusts you completely but the bond has to be strong. Not to mention when they are out of their cage any thing that startles them they come running to me. I am their saftey zone.

With Spike, it is the same, when something startles him or he is unsure of things he is right on me, knowing that I will protect him from anything that comes along, He will also call out to me at night by hissing until I go over there and he gets in my hand and I literally have to ball him up and give him a good rub down before he is happy for the night.

Than there is my Princess and Babbax, the bra babies from the beginning. The bond with them is totally unbelieveable. I can at anytime pull them out anywhere I am and not worry that they will leave my side. Never once have I been nervous about them jumping and getting away. However, now that Bax is grown, I can not take him around any other gliders other than Princess because he is truly an alpha male and will even tear me apart if I smell of any other glider.

And than there is my new guy Dasher. Of course the bond with him and I is like no other because he is my first GrandJoey and just the most priceless glider there is. Him and I have such a bond with one another that anyone, anywhere would be able to tell. He (like princess) loves to give me kisses and as soon as he hears my voice he is out of his pouch and begging to get out of his cage. Normally, he will snuggle in my hair or groom me for hours and have no interest in anything else.

You will *feel* your bond with your gliders and your gut will tell you if you have they have a bond with you.

Hope this helps....
(thought I would add a pic of Dasher giving kisses the other night.... )

Well, i got my glider about a month and 2 weeks or so ago and i think he is bonded to me and i will list the reasons:
1.He likes to crawl all over me first and then goes running aound my room exploring
2.He runs to me when he sees a cat(my cats are sneeky and hide in my room sometimes)
3.He is being introduced to other rooms and after exploring a bit he hopps on me for a little petting(he loves a neck massage btw:))and gives me kisses when i am done, may i add about 20 of them!
4.when in trouble he will come to me
5.he isn't jumpy like he was when i first got him
6.he has pouch issues and when i first got him(you might consider him a rescue)he crabbed and lunged and bit me if i had my hand any where near his cage, now there is only a liitle chirpping and a nibble or two.(i was amazed at how soon he got used to me)

his previous owner never played with him and kept him in a 2ft tall cage with no toys or a wheel until i got him. He is definitly happier now:)
