My girls have a Serious fettish with my stinky socks. They always take off with them when I leave them out during play time. I was wondering if anyone has considered using dirty socks for bonding/scent cloth? Most of us wear them everyday, so it's not hard to remember to put them on for a day and give them to the lilins the next morning. My only concern was their nails getting caught on the material or loose threads. Any input? Am I just loopy?

No no no!! Sorry but they are very dangerous! Their nails can get caught up or toes, and they could lose a limb. This HAS happened to me before with my first glider Rooey. It's a horrible sight to see your baby with a toe turning purple b/c its wrapped in a string. PLEASE don't do it. Try using fleece squares that you can cut up and carry with you to get your scent on them, they are much safer.

Umm.. maybe make a fleece "foot" shape you.. ugh.. leave in your shoe during the day? (Mine are after my socks too so don't feel alone) I've been thinking about it myself. Odd little monkies.

How about stuffing the fleece square inside your sock? Or put it between your sock & shoe? Wherever you want to put these material squares, I have a loud AMEN to LittleCowGirl's warning about NOT allowing them to play with your socks themselves! (You think seeing a toe turn purple makes you a panic maniac, try seeing it caught around their NECK!) **Do be certain to sew a zigzag edge around your material so it doesn't have a single chance of fraying & causing these problems!!!**

That's what I was afraid of. I was concerned with their limbs getting caught on the material of the sock. My girls are fully bonded. I was just thinking that this may be easier for new glider owners when bonding. I could never remember to put a scent patch in my bra/sock/ect! (I eventaully resorted to sleeping with their clean pouches in my bed to get my scent on them. LOL) I slept with a dozen of their pouches in my bed every night for about two months. Yah I'm a dork Well new glider owners will now know that using socks is NOT suggested! I think I'll be more careful about picking up ALL my socks before playtime. Thanks for the input! I hope those of you who use socks as your gliders pouches are reading this post . . . I know of a couple

Minkasmom, I know what you mean! This happened to Rooey and my other glider Cloey that I had. Cloey was screaming while my dad was trying to cut her out of the sock and she was viciously biting him, it was really horrible. Thank god we got both of them out in time before any damage was done.
