I clean cages daily with Clorox wipes and than take them out every two weeks for pressure cleaning. The weeks I dont take it out is when I wash the pouches and toys.

As for the tent throw it in the washer but let it line dry.

sounds like you have a great routine Peggy! Im going to have to try that... What i usually do is one my days off during the week from work I will put the gliders in their bonding pouch while they are asleep and scrub the cage in the bath tub and wash their other pouches and toys. Then I will let everything dry and put it all back together.

Daily: Put water into a bucket and wipe down all of the cage surfaces with a large, wet sponge. Rotate pouches, tunnels and cubes that may have been soiled. Check pearches, toys and swings, and replace if soiled. Check their wodent wheels, and clean if needed.

Weekly: Rotate their bedding in the Litter Pan. Remove all of the items in the cage (including the Gliders, of course). Haul the cage down to the Car Wash, and pressure wash in the car bay. Let air dry, then put everything back

Considering the cost of cleaning the cage has been $3 at the car wash thus far, I think I will have to invest in my own pressure washer

My morning routine takes 10 minutes max...Remove food dishes, remove washable fleece liner from bottom of cage, wipe down cage(I also use the Clorox wipes)and sweep floor around cage. Quick and easy...We have two cages connected together with hamster tubes and a glider room (pictures in my gallery). I have an extra set of wodent wheels so I can change them out every couple days. I find most of the lingering odor comes from the wheels. Plus Saturday's I do the full clean of all toys, cages, wheels etc. Since we're in Florida it's easy to wash down the cages and set in the sun to dry.

I learned the tip about the fleece lining here on Glider Central. I bought fleece remnants and cut to fit the bottom of the cage (enough for 14 liners). It makes a soft floor for them to play on and easy to wash and reuse.

Keep checking the boards. You'll get lots of awesome tips for all your glider needs at Glider Central.

Thanks, I'm going to have to look into the clorox wipes. So they are safe for gliders?? or would you suggest taking a baby wipe over the clorox wipes?? what if they lick the bars of the cage?? Ya, my hallway is quite small, and I've been taking the cage into the bathroom tub to scrub it down, and then putting it back together, which takes a long time. And takes a lot of energy.

daily: wipe down cage with warm water/cider vinegar/mild soap solution.. take out dishes, etc

then every week i rotate what I clean b/c if you clean everything at once they go crazy... it rotates between major pan/litter cleaning, toy/pouch cleaning, and steam cleaning the whole entire cage and washing it with nature's miracle.

everything i use is safe and fine for gliders.. but i always rinse well too.

Does the fleece go in the drop pan, or just the bottom of the cage? And if it goes inside the cage, do you use anything in the drop pan?

The inside of our enclosure is tiled, so what I do every morning is sweep out any droppings or leaves that they've pulled off through out the evening. Then I use Clorox wipes to go over the floor. Once a week I pull everything out and rotate their pouches, wash their toys, hand scrub the inside of the enclosure with warm sudsy water. I soak thier wheels and ladders in the tub and rinse everything out really well and towel dry. I like to keep two or three ladders on hand, since they're wood I soak and scrub the one that was in their house and rotate them so their stuff is always clean and fresh. Hope this healps ya!
