Distilled is basically "dead" water (no electrolytes) & should not be used. Tap water use depends on the quality of your city water. Tap water is often frowned upon due to parasites that may lurk and affect your suggies (though they may not be harmful to us). Most choose to use bottled spring water. Be sure to read the bottles though, some companies bottle form city water supplies! Sneaky sneaky!

It will say something to the effect of: Bottled at the Kansas City Water Supply.

Drinking water is pretty often from public supplies.
But, in the end, water is water is water. It's h20. The city water that's bottled is usually filtered so many times it's almost distilled anyway and then they ADD minerals back into it to give it some flavor and mouth-feel.
Dasani, Coke's water brand, is bottled city water.
I have a home filter on my tap and I fill the glider's water from that. It may not be pure mountain spring water bottled by blind tibetan monks but it's "good enough". I'd be more worried about chlorine in city water than anything else, as gliders are much smaller than people.

LOL, it was a Target brand - like $5.00 a case for the lil bottles that said that (kinda made me laugh). I, personally, have a water cooler & I fill my bottles from those Culligan machines in the grocery stores that filter the water. IMO, as long as it's filtered, you're cool!

Quiet often people post personal opinions on boards and they are taken to be fact. Here is a site that will shed some light on the issue of bottle water. http://www.nrdc.org/water/drinking/nbw.aspHope this will help you make a decision. Charlie H

I don't drink the tap water where we live currently so I wouldn't give it to a pet... any pet, but especially a glider.. it causes me health issues (migraines due to minor amounts of a contaminant that is deemed acceptable at that level)... so I won't expect it to be safe for a glider... but if we move and I don't have those issues with a well I may choose to just use well water for them as well.
