I live in FL guys, and as such we go fruit picking a good bit at the local farms. Me & the kids picked a BOATLOAD of strawberries this year( just ask PixTrix!) and in casual conversation with the farmers Wife on recipes, she told me how to properly freeze fruit to stay fresh!

You must first turn your freezer ALL THE WAY DOWN to it's coldest setting for 1 whole day ahead of time. Then, except for berries, dice the fruit into 1" cubes and place on paper towels. The exterior of the fruit must be dry! Place a sheet of wax paper or plastic wrap on a small cookie sheet, place the fruit NOT TOUCHING on it, and lay a loose sheet of wrap on top. Place this in your freezer, freeze overnight, & pop them into a freezer baggie. It works great, even with juicy papaya & mango. Each cube is individually frozen, no canning needed, artificial preservatives, etc. et al. Then you just pop your BML cube & fruit cubes along w/ frozen veggies into the bowl a few hours b4 they wake up, and your done!

Ohhhhh, so that is how they do it, huh? I have always wondered how in the world their berries stayed intact while mine always turned mush! Thanks for sharing this secret on freezing berries with us!

Yep, Shaun G. sent us a flat of berries straight from the strawberry farm and they were all soooo yum yum yummy! Soo huge, juicy and DELICIOUS!!!!! Thanks, Shaun! Appreciate it!

The trick is having a COLD freezer, and the surface of the berries/melon/fruit cubes need to be dry. My Wife suggested we dust the cut fruit w/ glider nectar on the cut sides to help keep them dry too.....

Well, here's an update. I used both my chest freezer and my home freezer, and the chest freezer goes down to -20f and those fruits were much fresher/firmer than the ones in my home freezer, at only 0 farenheit. However, they still ate them & I did not have to chop chop chop, dinner was served in about 90 seconds, adding just a few rice chex and a bit of fresh orange!
