This must be the time of year for close calls with our furbuts. The first one happened with Miko my lone male. He is just the sweetest boy anyone could ever have. Last Wednesday morning I went to look in at my crew and check on them. All was fine. They all gave me my morning greeting and I went on about my day. Busy getting ready for Christmas, shopping and such. My son Eric came home from school and went to take Miko out for a cuddle like he always does. Miko was stuck in between the fuzzy lining of the pouch and the outer flannel. He had chewed a whole and was stuck in between. Luckily Eric kept his cool and pulled out the inner lining and cut a big hole and rescued our little darling. Even though I check on our glider family a million times a day, it only takes a little while for a glider to get stuck. Luckily Miko didn't panic, he simply had a snooze until someone came to rescue him. Needless to say I have now switched my babies to little nesting baskets filled with blankies. The next close call came when I was putting dinner in Mirra and Kikas cage. Little Mira< 4 months OOP, just loves to jump straight for your face. Well I moved and she hit the floor running. Well.. that little bum ran all the way downstairs wanting to play "chase me mom". Unfortunately a door was left open. Downstairs is not a safe place for a little glider to be. She ran straight for my storage room and would not come back to me! I caught her just as she jumped into an open box of junk. It might have been days before we found her in all that storage stuff. She nearly gave me a heart attack when I think of what might have happened. I think I have had my share of close calls this season! We just never can be too careful with these little guys!

Kika glad you were able to find her. I can definately identify with the (boxes of junk) Somebody was looking at pictures of my gliders and remarked "wow their rooms are so clean your house must be immaculate" I started laughing. "No their rooms are clean you wouldn't want to see the rest of the house" It's got all the stuff that used to be in their rooms in the house, garage, basement, and closets just to make their rooms comfortable and safe.

The first few months that I got my first glider (Sugar) I never could catch her. We'd get out every night and play, after playtime I'd spend hours chasing her, finally after I stayed up until 2-3am and had to go to school every morning, My boyfriend's job was to catch her. I am so short, anywhere she went, I could barely reach her. One night, my boyfriend left early but I hadn't had playtime and she had to come out....it ras my rule for her. Stupid me, let her out and we played. My closet door was open and she jumped in there. I was soooo tired and couldn't catch her, I spent almost 3 hours trying to catch that lil bugger. Finally, I said forget it and went to bed. I figured that she would go back to her cage....not. I woke up the next morning and was running really late to school 'cause I couldn't catch her, so I closed the closet door until I could come home at noon. Finally I caught her, she was curled up in one of my prom dresses which her nails had torn to shreds. Sorry I wrote sooo much, I just wanted to share my story with you. I am so relieved that your gliders turned out to be ok. Tammy er er

Ah yes the "mommy I don't want to go back in my cage" I remember it well. When I first brought Patty home she had hardly had any out of cage time at her old home and I can remember leaning against her cage at 2-3 in the morning begging her "please Patty won't you please go back in your cage mommy is soooo tired" She would look at me like "why are you tired mom, didn't you sleep all day like everyone is supposed to?" I don't think they buy it that humans usually sleep at night.

Sorry to hear, but thank god your baby is okay. I sew pouches for Todd, he is a big time chewer. If I lined the pouches, I'll besure to stitch the seams couple time so it is not easy to tear.
