Ok, so I seem to have a problem with my little Sol man. His tail is getting shorter. I can't figure it out. I don't see or hear evidence of anything going on. First it was the black tip of his tail. Nothing for a couple of weeks and now he has just a little bit more missing. Could it be he doesn't like his own tail? I never hear anything going on which would suggest any kind of attack so I am at a loss. Calling my vet as soon as they open but I was wondering if anyone else has ever had htis problem?

No Problem...she has a glider that SMed his tail and had to have it amputated...so I bet she can be of some help to you.

Best wishes to you and your little one!

When we first got Lan, within 5 days he had started chewing the end of his tail off - we ended up bringing him to the emergency vet where the majority of his tail was amputated.

Good Luck! Keep us posted!

If you have any other questions, let me know! I'll try to answer as best I can. But, obviously, the best thing is to bring him in to see the vet. Which it sounds like you are already planning on doing! thumb

Well, my vet wasn't in today. dunno There was a fill in vet that had no suggie experience at all. So it looks like I have to wait until tomorrow to see what my vet thinks I should do. Will keep you all up to date!
On a happier note....today was clip the nails day and ALL of my babies were wonderful! dance Not sure how that happened! Momma and daddy must be mello since little Ace was born! Luna and Sol are just too young to know how to hate it! Yoggies all around! agree

ADDED UPDATE: The truth comes out! I caught Luna grabbing Sol's tail several times while they were playing! She wouldn't let go when he tried to get away! I wonder if she has bits and pieces of his tail in her tiny little pouch?

Ok, I know I promised an update.....just seems so many suggies so little time! roflmao Sol's fav vet says he will be just fine as long as Luna leaves his tail alone at play time. Right now she wants to wait and see how it goes and it has been doing good so far. Poor guy sure looks funny though. Shorter tail that comes to a point! I don't think he is ever going to have it easy! ohwell Will get more pics up of everyone including thier new bro Ace as soon as I get my camera charged again! (someone in the family seems to think I take too many pics) Imagine that!

Is he on meds? Any time an open wound is there, antibiotics are a must, since they won't let you know they feel bad until they're critical. And if she won't leave it alone...they'll need separated until it heals-supervised visits only. Update?

Also watch for any discoloration (red or black), or unusual heat or oozing, that may necessitate amputation into healthy tissue-it may not seem like much, but an infection or necrotic tissue can kill.

Jen/Colin :bb: Commander Riker 12 16 02-10 04 12 you will be FOREVER missed :wfb: Sinbad, :wfb: Gabby, :grey: Baby, and :grey: Alley
