The directions on the box say to make 1 liter, 160g with 400ml of warm water, but that seems like too much to make as it only lasts for a day. I would like to make less, but having trouble with figuring out grams...nothing I have measures in grams.

To make it easier for you... the Wombaroo milk replacer can be mixed 1 part Wombaroo, to 3 parts water. (so say, like, 1 teaspoon Wombaroo, to 3 teaspoons water.) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Stir well, and refridgerate. Discard any unused mix within 2 days.

You guys still have me a little confused when you say Milk Replacer. Are you referring to the Wombaroo HPS or the Wombaroo Milk Replacer 0.8 first stage or second stage. I think this is where a lot of confusion is about the Wombaroo products. Especially when it comes to trying to use the Wombaroo products for saving joeys. If we could be more specific it would help a lot.

this is widely used in Australia with excellent results.
As a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for over a dozen years, I prefer to use species-specific milk replacers whenever possible.
As for mixing guidelines, generally you want to achieve a "thin milk consistency" --that is, something a bit thinner than whole cow milk (never, never give cow milk to any babies but cows!)
According to the package, prepared Wombaroo can be kept frozen for up to 2 weeks.

For SG infants, I use a 1cc oral Tuberculin syringe (NO needle.) Dab a mini drop on the mouth (making sure not to get any in the nose!) and wait for him or her to suck it in. Repeat until baby quits. Feed small amounts frequently -- it is NOT necessary to wait 2 hours!! Smaller feedings every half hour are harder on you, but easier on the baby's tiny tummy. Remember, Mommy SG would feed them whenever they are hungry.

The only trick to mixing Wombaroo is to use VERY HOT WATER.
(not actually boiling but close to it.) If the water is not hot enough, the powder will not dissolve completely.

I thought I should have some on hand with Joeys on the way. But so far both mothers of my Joeys are doing a great job being first time mommys. I am not trying to be negative here but feel that those who are considering using Wombaroo products need to know exactly what they are going to use. A previous thread was discussing the inclusion of the Wombaroo HPS. In this thread I have seen Wombarro Milk, Wombarro Replacer, and finally the >0.8. There are several products sold by Wombaroo and each has its particular intended use.

In the past we tried using Wombaroo Milk Replacer to save joeys and did not have any luck. We were not informed that there was the first and second stage and no one ever told us that Wombaroo had Impact Colostrum Supplement. Since we were mis-informed we were probably using the second stage Wombaroo without the colostrum. We were relatively new to the glider community at the time and simply used what the breeder sold us and told us to use. We did not realize the full extent of the Wombaroo products. Had we known about the first stage and Impact Colostrum Supplement our experience with this product could have been much different. I fault us for assuming that there was only one version of the Wombaroo Milk Replacer and I fault the dealers who sell these products for not informing the public about the various options.

Don't be like me. If you are going to use the product go to the Wombaroo site and become familiar with their products and the options and recommendations. Thanks BMXgirl for your help with the Wombaroo Milk Replacer directions. As it turned out, I made enough for 2 feedings, but the little guy did not even want it. It was my first time cutting a nipple and I believe I cut it a little too much, so the milk was coming out a bit too fast anyway. Also tried it on my figertip, but he didn't seem interested. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> At least I now know what to do....any suggestions on how to get them to use the nipple??

Btw, for the others that responded, the directions were to make 1 liter, mix 240or260 grams with 450 ml of hot water (not 160 grams)....my mistake, sorry.
