It was the worst Christmas Eve night ever!!! I was in bed feeling alittle under the whether and i told my boyfriend to feed the gliders for me. He said Fine. When I feed the gliders, I always want to take them out of thier pouch so they can play and eat. Well I take the pouch away from the family cause if it was up to them they can sleep 24/7. I dont take Peppy or Moose out of thier pouch because I know they go out of thier pouch to eat. Well my boyfriend didnt know this and while he was taking Peppy and Moose out of thier pouch, Peppy made a glide for it right into Vesta's MOUTH!!!!
I was horrible. I led out a BIG scream and got Vesta and was shaking her so she can let go of Peppy. Poor guy was screaming in her mouth. I was so scared and crying to add to the drama. I kicked Vesta out of the room so i can help Peppy. Fortunalty he came out OK! All he had was a bloody nose. He was pretty shook up. He was sniflying alot and was walking like a vibrating toy. I was so scared. I took him in my hands to see if he was ok. No broken bones, no bloody gashes.
I left him in with his mate for a couple of days so he can calm down. He's fine now, alittle sniffles but nothing to be worried about.
What an awful experience. This taught me a great lesson.

OMG - what a terrifying experience -for you and for Peppy! The poor dog was probably a bit dumfounded also - glider gliding into his mouth! That's so weird. I'm very glad everything worked out and I hope poor Peppy's nose is on the mend!

I would say that Vesta is a great dog, I mean she could have run off with Peppy in her mouth. Thank God all is ok with Peppy and hope his wittle nose heals fast

WOW! I'm so glad that everyone made it through this experience safely. Vesta probably didn't even realize what happened!

Safe and sound thank god. Vesta didnt know what she was doing. Animal instinct i guess. Its ok. Thank god she didnt kill him. She really is a good dog. She probably thought it was one of her toys. Thankfully she didnt bite down. Her mouth was open when he was in there i forced her mouth open so she can let him go. What a week

Whoa Monique,
That made my heart stand still, and i'm glad he was just shook up and nothing more.
I had a similar experience 4 month back when Twinkles was still alive, he jumped out one day and i went to catch him, and my dog Conner caught him and had him in his mouth as well.
Like you i thought he'd be done for, but Twinkles (who was killed by a neighbors cat, who i was taking care of) was completely unhurt.
I guess Connor was trying to help me catch him, and just held him, but didn't bite him.
I was shocked and amazed, and to this day don't know what to think.

I too was completely shook up and feared the worst. I was probably more scared than Twinkles, it didn't seem to have him as upset as i was.
He never got any diahrrea or any signs that he was traumatized, he acted like nothing major had happened.
He really tripped me out.

I miss him so much.

Tanja

Im so sorry to hear about Twinkles Tanja. I guess dogs are truely man's best friend. Vesta choose not to run away with him. If it was one of thier pouches...god forbid i take that away from her. She'll start growling and putting all her weight on it. What a dumb head

Update on Peppy!

Peppy is doing great. After his advanture with Vesta i let him rest for a couple of days before I handled him again. I had playtime with him the other day and he was chirping like crazy. Moose and Peppy were going wild in the bathroom with me. It was so great. I am so happy he got through this fine.

Monique, I'm so glad Peppy is doing well, you should give Vesta lots of hugs and doggie treats. I wasn't so lucky when my puppy got my Petrie a few months ago, he played him to death. Now I closed all escape routes out of the glider room and no dogs allowed in.
