...to make room for a real baby. My suggies are pretty much bra babies, every once in a blue moon i take them in a bonding pouch but we are having a real baby in 3 months and i was wondering if anyone else has already been through this and what you did with your suggies to keep the bond. Im so used to having them on me all the time, but it seems like it just wouldnt be too smart to keep them in my bra when im nursing. Could you imagine? As if women dont draw enough attention to themselves nursing in public the last thing i need is 2 suggies crawling all over because they got woken up. Not to mention claws on tender skin, i think it best to keep the suggies at a distance from baby until she is older. Any thoughts or suggestions?
I would think little claws and a new baby wouldn't mix too well. I say start them in the pouch now so they are used to it when your little one comes. Congrats on the new one, by the way! You will have lots of time awake with the suggies at night, now! I hope this helps.

Oh, the picture you brought up with breastfeeding and suggies crawling all over the place is hysterical! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif" alt="" />

I have a cockatiel, Mincen, who was like my child. When I was pregnant, she would sit on my belly while I would read at night. I even named my son Vincent after her (Mincen sounds like Vincent) Well, as soon as Vincent was born, I was so preoccupied with him, that I did not play with Mincen barely at all. Vincent stayed up all night and would finally go to sleep around 4am (aaaarrrrrggggg!!!! So tired!) I was so tired and busy with my new son, that I had no time for her at all. I was also paranoid that my new, delicate, innocent child might be scratched by Mincen's feet, that I couldn't play with her near Vincent. When you become a new mommy, be prepared to put your life on hold for a while, so you can give all of yourself to your new baby, who needs you more than anything in the world. Unfortunately, this might mean your pets will have to entertain themselves more than usual, but in the long run it isn't as bad as it sounds. Mincen is back to normal--still loves me:o) Here's a pic of all of us, happy as can be. P.S. It is so wonderful that you decided to nurse your baby! I nursed Vincent for a whole year, and he is so healthy and happy. It is the way nature intended, and is such a good way to bond with each other. Good luck:o)
I agree with MiniZoo. Good for you for planning to nurse. If you thought bonding with a sugar glider as a bra baby was great, wait until you have a little human receiving all of its nourishment from you (well, I know he/she is doing that now, but it's different when you can cuddle and watch them)! I too nursed each of my daughters for a year. It's a wonderful thing.
Yes, the bra baby thing will be hard for quite some time, not only with nursing, but also because you will be carrying your human baby all the time, or at least off and on throughout the day for probably a couple of years and it's hard to do that without squishing bra babies! But it's sooooo worth it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" />
I want to add that I had nursed my three daughters for quite some time, too. I don't think the gliders would be very comfortable while in your bra because your ummm, you know what, will be so engorged with breastmilk, if you know what I mean, at least mine were. No, I did not have gliders when I had my girls, as they are in their teens now. I also loved nursing my daughters, as well.

dont feel bad im wondering the same thing just mine are in the pouch and my baby wont be nursed. He will be a bottle baby. im thinking of making a pouch more for my side. I think that might work better than the front pouch.
