Hi, ummm, last night I took Joey's nestbox out of place, so that I could reach in and get him for playtime. Well, the thing is...I left the box out, and forgot about it. so when I put him back in his cage through the gate he had a way to get out if he wanted to. Well, i went up to my room this morning and the nestbox is on top of the cage, and I suddenly remember. I look in it and thanks to God, he was in there, however a Major Applewhite painting i have on my wall was a little chewed up, and nocked down, showing evidence of him exploring around with no supervision. When I stuck my hand in his nestbox, he was really really upset with me. Crabbing at me and biting to no end. Loud too, he usually crabs a little bit, but never that loud, and he never bites. Should I take him to the vet? Or do you think I'm just a little paranoid or something. Thanks, Nikki

Nikki, he should be fine. I would keep an eye on him, look for evidence that he got into something he shouldn't but, he should be none the worse for the wear. He probably had a grand old party playing when you thought he was snug as a bug in a rug sleeping. I've forgotten to put pouches in overnight, and yes, they were mad at me, but they got over it and he will too! A step back, but you will more than make up for it soon, and before you know it, he will have forgotten it! Chey

Yeah the nights that I leave my girls out of their cage in their room... the next morning they act mad at me, but I think it's just that they were all on their own for hours and are giving me lip "what mom you can't trust us enough to leave us out all the time?". Give them a foot they take a mile.
