ok so i make the bathroom glider safe. and let the boys out to play. Spiderman who is normally going bazirk in the tent was sitting on a shelf thingy we have "reading magizines" well ok he was pooping on them and sat there the whole time. The other two who are less likely to play in the tent were going all over the place playing with toys and even venturing into the shower and divebombing my froggy shower mat. Well they couldnt get out of the tub so i flipped the mat upside down and draped it over the side of the tub. They were so happy even though rocky wasnt feeling that great. They were all over the place and spiderman just hid on that shelf. Ok i guess they have a preference on where they play just like everything else. I must admit i hate the splat they make when they land on the tub. They think its funny to watch my skoot across the floor on my rear to see if they are ok. They sit really still until i get there then look up and chirp and start moving. Mostly rocky. He thinks its funny.

I think the gliders would like the tent better since they can move around a lot more and stick to the sides. A bathroom is slick surfaces they cannot grab onto, which would make them uneasy.

true, but I imagine the heights they can climb to in a bathroom are enticing to them.

You can always put a blanket on the floor of the tub and hang things they can climb from the shower curtain rod. I have some ceiling hooks in my walls, up high, that I run a "cloths line" from one end of the tub to the other to hang dry clothes on. This could be used to hang toys from as well. There are alot of ways to make the bathroom a fun place for them and would be fairly easy to take down when you need your bathroom back for human uses.

I haven't tried the bathroom, I am a little nervous about doing that before I can get them to come to me when it is bed time (for me). But once we are that bonded, I think it would be a great place to play! I think I saw somewhere that someone suggested saran wrap on the toilet so they can't get in (don't forget to remove it!) What do y'all think about that idea? I'd never leave them alone, but I can't sit on the toilet lid, it's too flimsy.
Shawna Who are you networked with? Networking could save your gliders life. Create one now.

actually usmom, i have used the bathroom (only not tent~ihaven't gotten one yet) and got a round pizza pan (to put between the toilet lid and the acutal ring of the toilet itself..) and cover all the holes and sugarbaby loves it...he climbs up the walls down in the shower everywhere! i also put a old towel on the floor and put @ the bottom of the door! it's great..i guess tent time will be too! your choice!

I have found that the bathroom will work best for me mostly because I don't really have room for the tent in my condo. I still need to find a way to "decorate" the bathroom for them to play in. I would just let them have freedom in my room - but I have a glider that refuses to get along with my other pair and they will each get on the others cage and fight with it and chase eachother around through the cage to bite eachothers toes and stuff so I have to take them out of the room to play.
I say if your two like to play in the bathroom then let them do so. It seems you have a little game with them for the shower...splat thing. And let the other guy play in a tent. Maybe you can split play time for them between the two places.

There is a really cheap and easy way to keep your gliders from "splatting" on the hard tub, which is definitely a hazard. Most Dollar General and Family Dollar stores as well as good ol' Wally World sell the foam mattress pads really cheap. I got a twin size for $6. I cut it to fit inside the tub except for the floor which I cover in thick mats. Tape the sides down to the tub with white duct tape and you're good to go! Also, I covered the faucet and shower head. We don't use this bathroom, so that wasn't a problem. I use the shower curtain rod to hang toys from as well as the towel racks and have rope strung all over with things hanging on that. They also have a tree in the bathtub as well as a tower and kiddie coat rack with toys hanging on it. On top of the toilet tank which is covered, is thier castle. I also throw some thick blankies in the sink, I have one little girl who thinks it's THE place to groom! I suppose if you had to actually use the bathroom, this would not work, but you could improvise. You could always not tape down the foam and just lift it off. That would be better than them landing on the hard tub. One of my gliders injured his leg landing on the tub, which is why I got the foam. They aren't always as resilient as we sometimes seem to think they are!
