well... i've got one i haven't heard of yet... as some of you may have heard, this week our mommie lost her joey that was due OOP in 2-3 more weeks... but we also have our lacy who just had twin joeys come OOP (otis OOP 1/18 and Mylee OOP 1/20) last week. tonight when we got home from the movies... i fed all our suggies and since lacy was out eating, ann wanted to see the babies... now, usually someone stays in the pouch/cube with the babies while lacy is out eating or exercising... one of the babies was nursing on mommie! ann saw it! have you ever heard of this? now granted, we have a little colony going here. and from what i have been told, in a colony, everyone kind of works together to care for the babies... so i guess i shouldn't be too shocked... they are all very well bonded and all that. but it sure did surprise me! there has not been any jealousy that we have seen at all. in fact i've noticed the females being even closer. and the other thing... since the joey died... poppie hasn't been in the pouch/cube as much as he was before. at least half the time he is sleeping somewhere else. not sure what THAT'S about. he still helps out, but it's more the two mommies, and beanie girl plays babysitter sometimes. now, the twins... they are only just a week OOP... and today both their eyes on both joeys are open! beanies eyes didn't open till like day 11! ok, enough of my baby happenings... i was just curious for input from more experienced members of the community. thanks in advance! rho

well, the twins haven't ridden around on anybody's back yet... lol... but i expect it at any time! lol when mommie had beanie, she was never without that baby for the longest time even though poppie helped her take care of the baby. i guess lacy is just a lucky girl! she's got a whole crew of nannies! even a wetnurse! lol

The more help for Lacy, the better! I have heard of it. Perhaps the girls have told him to 'back off' they can handle it! lol (Or perhaps two women in one place is more than he can handle! lol) I'm sorry on the loss of mommies joey. I bet she is very happy to help take care of these little ones!!

Aren't glider family dynamics interesting. I had 2 females with joeys OOP about 2 weeks apart back in October and one of the girls wasn't producing enough milk for her babies, so I introduced her joey to my other girl. She would let the joey nurse for a while, then I would put him back with his mom... It was the sweetest thing.
