Thanks I don't have a dishwasher but I didn't know if bleach solutions were ok.. I'll just be very careful when I rinse them. Thanks again.

I just take a sponge and wash mine down with an antibacterial dishwashing liquid, and I "rinse rinse rinse" with cold water until there are no more bubbles, and then let air dry.

I wash mine with the bleach and a scrubbie, then rinse like crazy.
Shawna Who are you networked with? Networking could save your gliders life. Create one now.

I do a presoak in very diluted bleach water and antibacterial soap. Then, I put them in the dishwasher. Since you don't have one, I recommend the first part and also SunCoast sells a nice antibacterial spray for 6.00 or so. It's a large bottle. They also sell a product called "Canopy." I like their description of calling it "Pam" (that cooking spray) for glider mess. After I am done all of the above, I spray canopy on a papertowel and rub a layer on the perches.

I put mine in the bath tub and use our steam cleaner on it. It takes a bit of work but I steam until there's no more yucky colored water resulting from the steam, then I rinse with cold water and let dry.

I make perch covers that slide on and off and can be thrown in the washer. And I made it so thatyou can hang toys from them for double use PM me for more info Otherwise, before I made the covers I used the dishwasher method and it worked good but wasn't as pretty.
