My mommy buttercream has a joey almost 8 weeks oop and now her pouch is almost hanging completely out? My vet says she in unbreedable without surgery, he is not real experienced on gliders would have to take her an hour away. Has this happened to anyone else?/ She is the best mom in the world!!! Any suggestions?? Also I forgot to ask if I should remove the baby from her. I need input please. This in my only breeder pair will never do this again wayy to stressful.

This is such a tough one to give you advice on with out actually seeing the glider...

Is her pouch hanging out or is the skin around her pouch streched and just kind of sagging all over the place?

Or could it be that the joey just kind of yanked the pouch inside out while nursing?

How long has it been like this?

Is it red, swollen, or irritated?

Any puss or discharge?

I am not sure the pouch is outside its not swollen or red or anything the vet was not concerned. I'd say the baby was rough nursing shes as big as the mom now. He didn't try to see if joey ip. He just looked at it hanging out not a good glider vet, I can get her to a good glider vet she does not seem in pain or anything let us touch n pull on it no biggie. I can try n get a picture this weekend with my brothers digital camera.

Does it look like this? In the picture it looks kind of red and shiny but it really just looks like pink skin.

at first I thought it was a joey body part, that much is sticking out. Ponchess is this serious?? I only want the best for my suggie. My vet downplayed everything but what do you think?/ This is my first joey and breeding, not happening again.

Personally, I would try to locate another vet. The pouch being inverted leaves it vunerable to infection (if there isn't one already). I don't think I would leave my girl in that condition any longer then absolutely necessary. Also, if the joey is 8 weeks, I would seperate the joey so it doesn't continue to try to nurse.

Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.

Ok
Sometimes a little skin hangs out (more than the one in the picture). They will not breed until the skin goes back in. Most of the time they put it back in themselves when they are ready to breed. I have a female that has a lot of skin hanging out now, but her baby is only a couple of weeks. I am going to leave it be though.

Ok thankyou everyone!!!!!!!!!! I have been stressed for her. I went ahead and pulled joey she will be 8 weeks next week is this ok? I personally do not want to breed my mommy again which is a shame she is a awesome mom and has gorgeous buttercream baby.
