You will see round face glider's quite often...it's just a trait they pick up from their parents really. The perfect example of a round face glider is Srlb's Dasher. Glider's faces are different though...for example, the Idonesion and the New Guinea glider's look a little different from each other. It's almost impossible to trace where the glider's in the US now are actually from though...could be combo's of both areas....including Australia.... . But they sure are cute gliders .

ok, from what I know, round faced gliders are not something one can 'breed for' it's not a trait that is necessarily passed from parents to joeys. It is just a glider with a shorter nose, and rounder head, I think I heard someone refer to them as sort of like pug faced. They just don't have an elongated face like most do. Now they don't look like a himalyan cat with no outward nose at all but it is just shorter. I am not sure about rarity, and as I said it isn't something that can be bred for, I think it just happens... If I am wrong please slap me upside the head and correct me LOL Hope that helps!

"Round Face" isn't a variation or anything, it's just the shape of a gliders head. Just like humans, each glider has a slightly different face shape. I've attached a picture of my various gliders heads. The two on the left have the roundest heads, while the others have longer or more wedge shaped heads... They are all normal gliders, the only differance is the shape of their head.

Thanks everyone for the responses. And thank you for the pics Leyna. The one of the glider who looks like it is at a zipper or something looks like he is sucking his thumb...how adorable!!

Well, Ill tell you.... Dasher is really mine, but I just let Miss Peggy think he is hers. (LOL...No really, little Mister Dasher (Oh so cute!) is one of Peggys furry kids offspring. Isnt he just a precious doll?!!! )
Why does BMX girl still insist on her owning Dasher? It is clear that Dasher belongs to me! Thanks, Peggy! So adorable that kiddo is!
OMGosh now it is not just about color now it is the shape of their heads…
I DON”T THINK I LIKE THE WAY THIS IS HEADING….. LOL … I am just kidding … I think this is a glideritis (someone tell me how to put that into spell check…lol )
I love my baby grey Long nose bubble head crazy nutty babies…
Dasher was my only Joey from my first pair Pepper and Bear. Pepper also has a *pug* face, just not as profound as Dasher. I am hoping that he will be able to pass this trend along to his own joeys one day as it is just too cute. I love all my gliders dearly no matter what kind of nose they have, but it sure is easy to tell Dasher apart from the rest for sure. Here is a pic of him taken last night to give a better angle of why I call him my pug glider!!
