Someone just told me today that all she ever uses to clean her cages is baking soda and water with a tooth brush.. mist it off with water..she says she has used this with all of her small pets and does not believe in using anything harsher...can I have some your thoughts on this and what some other people are using for easy cage cleaning?..thanks so much. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thanx.gif" alt="" /> Laurel

hmmm... that sounds pretty safe to use..... I usually use clorox wipes to wipe off my cage and normal dish soap on the toys and food bowls. (I make sure they are rinsed throughly several times when im done) If this isn't safe someone please tell me.

After breast cancer, my doctor recommended that I not use chemicals. He suggested baking soda or vinegar to clean. Of course I was skeptical because I used the strongest cleaner I could buy plus bleach. Both work great and don't eat up your hands if you don't wear gloves. I clean my tub with it also. Oh, I use borax also--great cleaning scrub!

I dilute the vinegar and use the baking soda or borax as a scrub for stuck on stuff.
