Well the way my schedule with the suggies work is I fed them around 9 or 10 and let everyone get a bite to eat then we have some tent time so before I go to bed I tend to check the on the gliders a few times. Well anyway tonight per usual I checked on the gliders maybe 2-3 times handed out some treats. Everything was peachy. Im heading to bed and I hear one of the gliders making that crying sound joeys make and my joeys OOP are way to young to be that loud, I thought it was strange. I go in there and Pudgy a visitor til the begining Sunday was on top of his cage trying to get back in it! laugh SILLY BOY! laugh I'm borrowing a temp cage from Teresa and she has it zip tied so the doors are hard to get up basically preventing a glider from opening the door and getting out. BUT if your a knuckle head like me you gotta make sure you close it all the way. See not totally full proof! roflmao I got him back in no fuss no muss. He is actually a joey that was born with me he has lived with his new momma for a few months but Im helping her out with some stuff, but I think he still knows me cause I have been able to handle him like I use to.. OR lol between Rana and I he is just the best baby in the world.
But this happened to me before. I was heading to bed and I heard crabbing and OMGOSH Jessie was on another cage trying to fight with Zach and Mia was just bouncing around in the tent roflmao I have never had a missing glider *knocks on wood* but I think its important for people to know how important it is to trust you instincts. Something doesnt sound right you get in that room. There are so many behaviors you can understand if you know a gliders sounds. If you know YOUR gliders sounds. My gliders don't crab or hiss all by themselves. Im actually about to buy a baby monitor for the glider room. Maybe Im just a worry wort, but I could have easily lost a glider tonight.
Just thought I would share.
But this has happened before, I have never had a missing glider because

Absolutely great advice! I know my kids barks sound different if something is wrong. Lili sounded very upset one night, I knew something was really wrong. I went in, flipped on the light and she was running around, barking, in circles in her cage, just hysterical. When I opened the cage, she jumped out to me and kept barking. I looked around and sure enough, Pascal had chewed out of the cage and was running around the room. shakehead I always go in and see what's wrong when they panic bark!

If we never loved, then maybe we would never feel pain. Love anyway. It's worth it.

Yep, one morning I got up early to pass out mealies, went back to bed and heard crabbing, ALMSOST didn't get up to check and thought to myself that it sounded much closer than it should have - the only suggie actually IN my bedroom at the time was Luka and it wasn't coming from him. I get up with a flash light to check and sure enough, Stevie was in the kitchen (which is in between the living room where I keep the suggies and my bedroom) - he was cornered between the dishwasher and the wall by my half grown kitten, in the boxer stance just crabbing away!
I wasn't sure if he would come to me (having some problems in that area) but apparently he realized I was most definitely the lesser of the two evils and ran right up my arm and went back to his cage - idiot that I was, I hadn't closed the door all the way - now I pay MUCH closer attention when I hear a suggie noise that doesn't sound like it should!!

I too one night had left the door open on my suggies thank goodness my living room is suggie proofed and they run around there all the time the one thing that alerted me was Sammy in her cage barking in a strange bark... Came in flipped on the light and had a frozen glider on the recliner..... looked and silly me had left their cage open and they decided they needed to have playtime without mom. Thank goodness the dog was locked in the bedroom with us because he probably would have had a glider snack. I am so glad that Sammy was jealous and decided to alert me of this!! Who knows what could have happened if I hadn't came in and checked on them.

Yes, great advice Lauren. I think its good to be a worry wort with these monkeys. My cage is in the living room because there was no room in the bedroom where I prefer them to be so I went and bought a baby monitor. You will feel much beeter with a baby monitor so you can hear everything going on at night and easily monitor them just in case. Thankgoodness no one was lost!

I agree with you and say buy that baby monitor! thumb

Just the other night I heard all the gliders barking, more than usual, and I thought it was weird. I opened the door to check on them and the cat was locked in there! They tattle tailed on her, LOL. Thank god my cat don't try to attack them or anything, she just likes the glider room because it warm and she thinks my closest of fleece is a big bed, NOT! LOL. I'm glad that I checked on them though.
