do most people put the wheel on the floor or on the side of the cage? I've been looking at pictures of the cages and see a lot of them on the side. Are they secure that way?

I have my gliders' wheel hanging from the top of the cage. Get a package of zip ties. They work wonders. You can hang wheels from the sides or the top. Or just secure it to the bottom. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

ETA: uhoh- If you use multiple zip ties, then yes they are very secure. I have at least 4 of them securing my wheel to the top of the cage.

I've grown to love my zip ties. *LOL*

I use cable ties. They can be found in the hardware dept of Walmart. I also use these to secure corners and hold sliding doors closed.

i have my wheel on the floor of the cage too, i just use twisty-ties to anchor it down (to the wire floor) they work pretty well and they are easy to remove when it comes to cleaning day

Take whe wheel apart. Slide the post (the part the wheel attaches to) through the top wires of your cage. Re-attach the wheel................Don't have to worry about ties....

Thank you so much, I did get the twist ties, I just haven't done it yet. I also like the idea of taking the wheel apart and attaching it that way

I would not do this. The wheel will rattle around like crazy. It needs to be secured.

I use zip ties for everything, it really cut down on the noise of the WW sliding everywhere.
