When we were pulling in to my driveway after my mom picked me up from school, she told me she had some news that I didnt want to hear. I asked her what happened, and she told me Apolle (our dog) dropped something in front of her today. At first she said she thought it was a ground squirrel, but looking at it a second time, she concluded that it was, indeed a sugar glider. Sure enough, the cage door was wide open.

I must have forgotten to latch the cage last night. Gizmo escaped & somehow made his way upstairs (where the cats and dogs stay). I'm not entirely sure how it happened, but my guess is that the cats got ahold of him. I saw his body, he had definately been mawled.

I just wanted to let you guys know. You're the only ones that truly understand what it's like to lose one of these special animals.

Rest in peace little buddy!

cry Connor, Many many hugs and prayers being sent your way. I am so sorry to hear about your little baby.
Accidents do happen, so please do not be hard on yourself. Is there a chance that he could have opened the cage door himself? hug2 Rest in peace sweet little one....

Thank you for your kind words, everyone.

Honestly, I've accidentally left the cage door open before. I usually find the suggies safe & sound near their cage. I'm still in shock & the emotion hasn't really hit me yet... But I'm waiting for it.

Ginger is totally fine... I think she knows that Gizmo is gone... I dont know what I'm gonna do for her... I'll figure it out.

Thanks again, guys =]

Connor -

I know that you have had a rough time on the forum - but I also know you are a wonderful glider dad who really has put your all into all your pets.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

If I can help - let me know. Hugs.
