Okay very quick update. Buffy and Tara are now living in a 100 gallon rept. Its been hysterical! Buffy now tries to chase your finger on the outside of it, she was trying to nip my mom but I think it was because she has been without me for almost a week now. Lord willing a few more days and I can walk!

Missy, How long have you had your Glider? If you've only had her for a short period, she could be just reacting out of fear. It takes alot of time and patience for them to learn to trust. Here is a link that might be of some help on learning how to work with her. Biting Gliders

That is a really great link Linda posted. It does take a lot of time and patience, but once you notice a change in your little nipper, it is all worth it!

Let me just chime in and say that I also have a little nibbler. She doesn't try to bite me as much as she used too. She acts sad and just sits there with my finger in front of her face when I try to get her to climb on my hand. I think she's doing a little bit better which makes it better. I just think she might be depressed, but she has Gizmo, and Lord knows he aggravates the life out of her, but she's *never* been with another glider, she was alone when I got her. Could it be that she has lost her glider instinct and doesn't know how to be a little suggie?

missy, you are reinforcing to her that if she bites you, that you will leave her alone.each person has their own version of what type of relationship they want with their own glider, There are methods that work, some better than others, but the bottom line is she is afraid, therefore she bites. whether it is you invading her space or her pouch, the best thing you can do is continue to try to build a trust with her, rather than bonding, just work on building a trust. elrs, when you said she is getting better that already is a great sign, that means there is something you are doing that is working. how long have you had her? how old is she, do you know her relationship history?

Okay its been forever since I posted on Buffy. Everyday she still surprises me. I forget at times she was a biter. I just reach in her pouch and pull her out not even thinking now. Its hard to believe we have come so far. If not for Bourbon and Dancing I am not sure were Buffy and I would be today. I still owe you ladies soo much for helping me in January and since then.

Shelle, every time you tell me how good Buffy is doing I almost cry. You have done such a remarkable job with her. I'm sure she still HATES me but I'll still clip nails when ever I come over for you.
