I just had to put a post here. I know not many people feed this, its relatively new to the US. I have been using it aprox. a month and a half... Attached here is a pic of one of my gliders BEFORE the Wombarroo H.P. Which at the time i thought was a perfectly handsome and healthy young adult glider.
Now this is a different glider, he just cooperated better for the pictures... But this is a new picture taken today. Look at these tails! I LOVE this stuff!
I was feeding Priscilla's diet, which seemed to be the best out of all the ones we tried that worked for our gliders. My kids wouldnt touch the BML which was a good thing because my sensitive stumach couldnt handle the smell, lol.
I'm still feeding a similar diet, just instead of the chicken i substitued the Wombaroo. We also add acacia gum and eucaliptus bee pollen. My kids didnt clean up their food as well on chicken night, but they clean up every scrap of it now with the wombarroo.
I recomend doing your research before changing around your diets. Throwing stuff on top can screw up the balance of some of the proven diets. Please be careful. Wombaroo HP is meant to be fed on top of fruits and veggies as a SUPPLIMENT. It is not a diet in itself.
Just checked out the Wombaroo high protein supplement. It looks like it would be used instead of the RepCal or other brands of vitamin supplements people are using for their gliders. Is that the case? Looking at the pixs of your glders, it sure looks promising.

The High Protein Wombaroo is meant to be a replacement for the High Protein Baby cereal in the Original Leadbeaters.
Although many of us just recently started using this diet (PML diet) it has actually been here in the states for quite some time. I know Pockets has been using it for years. It is the diet they use in the Australian Zoos and only one person carries it for supply due to the High import charge here in the U.S.
When I took the box in to my vet to have him look it over and all the other items that Pocket feeds, he said the HPW looked as good as Fresh Backed Sliced Bread to him (or something similar to that phrase). He did tell me to add a tablespoon of the Australian Bee Pollen in it however and to leave the sustagen (ensure) out of it due to the large amount of vitamins (in the ensure). He stated that this had plenty of vitamins and calcium in it, however if I were to feed extra protein (which isnt a *must) such as chicken, to be sure to sprinkle a very small amount of repcal or similar calicum supplement over the top of it.
I have notice a HUGE difference in my gliders, not only their coats, tails and brightness of their eyes, but also in their temperment and their activity level.
I for one will be forever grateful for Pockets for sharing this with me.
That's great guys I've been meaning to do the math on working the Wombaroo HPS into my diet, just haven't had time, looks like I can expect good results.
That Pockets sure does know a thing or two about gliders Speaking of which, I haven't talked to her in a long time, wonder where she's been?
She's around! She's gonna be coming to our Sugar Glider Retreat in Feb! I am BEGGING her to bring some W.H.P to sell! She said she is going to talk with the US distributor.
My gang deffinately LOVES Pockets for spreading the word about this stuff! The first night, they cleaned up EVERYTHING on their plates! Now that says something! Especially with my picky critters!
I am using the BML/veggies/crickets kind of diet. Anyone have any idea how to integrate this stuff into that diet? I don't want to OD them on vitamins!
Did you get the milk replacer or the formula one? I'm confussed! lol
Glider Kids - Badger and Bonnie, Pepsi and Grace, Victoria.. ahem..I mean ummm..Victor! and Isabella
Please research before ordering! Some of you sound like you are just rushing out to buy it without even knowing how to use it! You can't just add this to your current diet, it is a complete diet change - don't jump into anything without research.

Well, I'm quite surprised actually - I thought tails were normally like that? All mine have huge bushy tails and you all know what I feed

Lol, Morrie, most of my gliders tails look like that as well. I have 2 gliders that just seem to naturally have tails that aren't as fluffy, but even now, their tails are much fluffier compaired to what they were when I first got the gliders... It's amazing what a good diet can do, even if others don't think it's a good diet (I have the same issue because I use a somewhat alturnative diet).

MMMMm, mutter!! lol I was thinking of trying HPS anyway, but I did find another one that is available in the UK made by Mazuri with an even higher amount of protein than the Wombaroo!! But, don't know, the stuff I use is 32% protein, then I use IF as well, how much is too much??
Pockets is a member of the board who came up with PML (pockets modified leadbeater's) it's a version that uses the older leadbeaters mix that couldn't be made in the states because we don't have access to high protein baby cereal... it uses wombarroo HP (high protein) in place of the high protein cereal - though the conversion isn't exact and you would need a complete copy of her diet if you are thinking of using it!
So if you're feeding Priscilla's diet and you add the HPS, do you continue to use the Pet Glider vitamins as well? My babies hate chicken, so this might really work for us! Also, do you still do nights with eggs and stuff, and leave the HPS out when you're going to feed mealworms?
HPS as I understand it is part of a completly seperate diet and should not just be substituted into a diet without knowing a lot more a/b nutrition than the average person.
the HPS mentioned here is in combination with a complete diet, PML... if you're looking to alter a diet - talk to your vet before you do as they should have an idea as to how to alter it and ensure that the gilder gets everything needed in the correct amounts
