My girlfriend and I took posession of 3 gliders which werent quite getting the attention they need in their old home. we had them out to play in a room we have cleared out and decorated for them last night for the first time, and for the first 10 minutes it was quite fun and we were delighted.
but then one of the males decided he ould be mischievous and climb down a pipe at the corner of the room. this was funny at first until we saw his little tail disapear into the floor! there was a tiny hole at the bottom which we'd not been able to see because the carpet covered it!
we were distraught and tried coaxing it out but soon stopped hearing his crabbing...we were getting upset. but then we heard an aoccasional scurry, so we ripped the carpet up and got screw driver and we prised up the floorboards, and after about an hour of takin gphotos under the boards with a digital camera, we finally got him back non the worse for wear, if a little dusty!
anyway - just a warning..make sure there are no hidden holes in the corners of rooms heh!
heres a pic of the little chap happily at the end of the floorboard:

This is such an important warning. I'm glad things worked out alright for yours, but it can never be repeated enough to be sure there's not a dangerous area where your glider could crawl into. It doesn't take a big space. If they can get their tiny heads there, they can squeeze into it. So it's really important to glider-proof before the gliders get to the room!
Thanks for sharing this -- it's a really important topic!

Poor little guy. I am so glad this story didn't have a bad ending! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yelclap.gif" alt="" /> I'm going to re-check my glider proofed room tonight. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" /> Isn't it odd how gliders can find trouble within the first few minutes if being out. They sure are mischeif driven, thats why we love'em! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/littleglider.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/littleglider.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> Thanks for the heads up.
