I saw this Universal Cage Guard and thought it might be a lifesaver. Do you think it would help if my gliders decided to go to the bathroom down the side of their cage?? I mean this would catch it, right? Pretty expensive but if it works its worth it. Please let me know what you think. I'm just trying to keep my room from turning into a war-zone lol. Thanks! Ariana

Well, it looks like it would catch most of it. I know that I have to pretty much vacuum the entire glider room floor every day. Their messes generally extend about 18 inches out from the cage, but some of that is thrown from up high.
Shawna Who are you networked with? Networking could save your gliders life. Create one now.

Wow! Even with a glider kitchen? Lol they probably will grab their favorite food and take it up to the highest spot in the cage, just to watch mommy clean up their messes. lol I just thought that this might cut down on urine trailing onto the rug....hmmm. Thank you Shawna!

I have seen some Cheerios cereal thrown 4 feet from their cage! They do drop their food, but they throw, too. The walls behind the cage are proof that they do throw food. In my opinion, I don't think the cage guard would work, because gliders throw food up, down, and out.

I personally wouldn't buy that, but only because I know how my gliders are. I don't really have much of a problem with them going to the bathroom on the sides of the cage because most of it falls into the drop pan below and the pee gets wiped down from the sides of the cage each day with Clorox wipes. Most of the mess comes from throwing things. I know I've had BML splatter coving some blinds of mine a few feet from the cage. I'd rather invest money into making a glider kitchen and covering the walls with something that can easily be cleaned.

Lol whoa! O.k. thank you everyone. I definitely will invest in something like sheets of plastic to cover the walls. lol Thank you! I have a glider kitchen, and I hope that cuts down on flying projectiles. Thanks.

I have a reptarium, so I don't really have that problem, but mostly, my gliders pee right down the cage...so there is slightly discolored streaks down the mesh before i clean it haha

I have plexiglass on 3 sides of my cage and it is five foot tall and I have pee streeks that run all the way from the top to the bottom. So, there is a lot that does not run down the bars.

O.K! Thank you everyone--I just want to make sure that I don't end up with HUGE yellow puddles all over! lol Cattail03 that sounds like a good idea with the plexiglass! Could you possibly post a pic of your setup? Also um, do you have male or female gliders? Not that it really matters, I've heard that females mark too. What do you have for under your cage setup? I'm thinking of laying down sheets of plastic under the cage, and all over the walls too. Thank you! Ariana
