Hello!!
I was just looking on ebay and stumbled across this--- tunnel this looks like it would be perfect for my gliders! And the seller has many just like it-some are twisted into a pretzel shape, others are really long. I just wanted to share this with everyone. I've been looking around for some time for a really neat and safe tunnel for my babies. Maybe I could even figure out a way to attach it from the ceiling? That would be fun! What does everyone think?? I would love to have a ton of these and have them going all around the room. Please tell me whether you think these would be o.k.

Those are great for ferrets. I don't know about gliders though. They have a metal wire "frame" and if you have gliders that chew, they could get hurt with it. I would use extreme caution with it.

Oh. Thank you for pointing that out for me. That would be pretty scary if they were chewing on it--how would you get them out of it in time?! Hm, man I really wanted to get a tunnel for them....any suggestions on where to look for safe tunnels?? Thank you Teresa!

Several vendors make and sell short tunnels (me included) but I know my gliders only use them for sleeping when they feel it is to warm in the pouches. I have tried the "hamster" tubes (habitrail tubes) and they walked ON them but never went IN them. Perhaps the ferret size ones they would use though. The down side is they are pretty expensive. You might want to contact some of the vendors and discuss what size/length tunnel you are looking for and perhaps one of them can make what you are wanting.

I get large cardboard tubes that come from electrical wire reels. I get these at work since I work for an electrical equipment company so we cut a lot of wire for the customers. after the wire is done I screw off the plastic ends and I bring the tubes home. But I know not everyone has my advantage, if you can call it that.LOL. (I hate my job)lol. But my gliders love the tubes! So they are worth it.

Oh, thank you Dancing--I'll have to try that.

That sounds perfect agilitygliders....lol thats one good way at looking at your job positively Too bad I can't get a hold of some. lol Now I will be scrounging everywhere for those cardboard tubes. Thanks! I really want tubes for the little stinkers, and the ferret ones are expensive.
I'd be too afraid to use the little hamster habitrails--all of the "what-ifs". Thanks for the ideas! Hmm, I have a cousin that works electrical, maybe I could get connections to get those tubes in bulk. lol

I made a cloth one, the girls love it and they take food it in it to eat and sleep in it and groom in it... but they are just as likely to do those things in a pouch... its not stiff enough and when they are in it the ends tend to elongate so it almost closes up!

What I used when I had my ferrets was a clear dryer vent hose. It is the same thing but much cheaper and you can buy it the length that you want. The wire was pretty thick so I wouldn't think a suggie could chew through the wire and eat it if you were watching them. The hose folds up like an accordian for easier storing.

Oh! Thank you! Great idea---I'll have to try that out. Thanks so much Uhoh. I really wanted to find a tunnel for my gliders, and one that wouldn't cost too much. That sounds perfect.
