I have a question or two. I have seen people have artifical garland in their cages but I heard that you shouldn't use it because the wire in it could hurt the Sugar Gliders, so my question is, Is it safe to use it or not? Also, any advice on making homemade toys would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks alot, Billie

Hi! You can find plastic vines that don't have wire in them---you can find them here (at the bottom of the page) I know there was another website that sold wireless vines with flowers, but I can't remember where...... Just make sure that the plastic vines have no wire in them, I would also rinse them in hot water to make sure they are clean before using them in the cage.

[:"blue"] Dollar Stores, Walmarts and Hobby stores are also good places to find vines. If the vine bends and stays in place, chances are pretty good there is wire inside so pass that one up.

They also should be color safe, meaning the color will not come off. You can carry a small pack of wet wipes in your purse and just gently rub a small spot to see if the color will rub off. I don't suggest using your wet finger as I've heard some people do unless that is all you have available [/]

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the help. I placed a order with Glider Daydreams for 3 Vines. Does anybody know what type of tree branches is safe? Maple tree? Sycamore? I would love to use branches that are in my back yard but I want them to be safe.
Thanks,
Billie

[:"blue"]Maple has been known to show toxicity in animals, so I would definitely not take a chance there. Sycamore is safe with a non-toxic rating. We have an apple tree in the back yard and my guys just love it. Tree looks a little funny from all my "pruning" but noone can see it from the street [/]
