Stainless steel is fine. I have a heavy ceramic dish. You need to be careful that the dish is heavy enough that it can't be tipped over or you'll have quite a mess on your hands! The size and quantity depend on how many gliders you have. I have three dishes for my two gliders, though I probably only need two. It's good to have accouple just incase one of your gliders won't let another eat. I'm not exactly sure but I think my dish is only 5 oz and it is plenty big. BTW, welcome to GC!

I have the stainless steel ones that attach to the cage and the gliders seem to like them okay. It works great for things like BML or zookeepers secret. Recently I have been using plastic plates for their fruit and veggies and they seem to like it more. I am finding less food being wasted or dropped into the bottom of the cage. So I haven't used my bowls in a while. Plus the clean up is so much easier! I just put the plates in the dishwasher!
